Because being psycho is a great excuse for poor writing no? I know there is way more crap writing going on. For me the character is just the symbol of poor writing/bad epi, so far I've seen them manage one good epi with said character.
Question for Thudo.
Without spoiling (since I'm getting the comics with xmas) can you say that the character of the guvnah is actually as good as in the comics? I highly doubt it and well If I'm wrong I need to cancel my gift I bet the writing and development of the character takes a huge hit since they can't follow everything in the comic and the pacing of the comic can't be translated to the pacing of the show.

Since it's slow at work right now, I'll answer that if ok
Well, there's pretty much no character development of the gov in the comic. If you want to know how he became what he is, you have to read "rise of the governor". However he is completely different than in the tv show, and ricks group is much more fleshed out.
What character development? He is a crazy psycho that thinks this woman and little girl are his family and before that he thought a zombie was his daughter.
Yeah, and there's still more character development in that than in the whole S3, like I said

Ah thanks for that, but yup going to get the full package.
Started watching Walking Dead again after perhaps 6 months.
Watched till Ep10 or so from S3 back then.
Seriously I can not watch this any more.
Rick has got to be the most emo person ever, just looking at his face and listening to his shite voice pisses me off. Guess now I remember why I stopped watching in the first place.
Will this nubcake still be part of Season 4? Then I won't bother at all.

The problem for me is, I really liked when the character started to show some humanity, there was even the chance to redeem himself for a while. Shadows of grey are good when it comes to making a quality drama.
But nope , they had to keep it temporary because it needs to be Team Ricky (ze good guys ♥ ) vs Team Guvna (the evil incarnate)
Well its a fcuking no-win when that first shell fired from that tank: every frack'n Zack would simply focus on that spot in the region. Every other shot from the tank just compounds the signal to all Undead. No win for anyone so truly the GuV was.. hehe.. "Too Far Gone". Sad to see Hershal gone but at least Lilly took him out as ultimate retribution as in the comics. Likely all GuV's forces were eradiated.. what a gawd damn waste but thats life in the Apocalypse.
So obviously some diversion from the comics here and there but largely in-tact.
Onward to Alexandria!

Well in a Apocalypse like this your chances of survival are greatest when held up in a fortified place able to consolidate your assets against the odds outside. On the road, you run considerable risk of making very bad mistakes as everything is dynamic and unpredictable. Also, its more expensive to set up the scenes "on the road" verses a stable setting where the film crews just keep recycling the same set. Yep.. waiting on 2H of S4 baby!!

Yeah, the second half is looking to be even better, which would make S4 the absolute best season. Let's just hope the writers didn't screw up after the pause
I'm almost positive they had Lizzie save Tyreese because Lizzie is the real killer of Karen and David, Carol just burned the bodies to cover for her. Carol will come back and the group will find out Lizzie has more problems than just talking to zombies.
Hell, I bet Tyreese, Lizzie, and the other girl end up running into Carol after escaping the prison.

so .. you have like experience in that field ?
Not sure how, but somehow i almost expect something racist as an explanation lol.
I guess I'm the only one who found the episode a bit retarded.
That scene with the girl getting eaten by a zombie, for starters, was so completely predictable and stupid. I guess Lilly must have felt pretty confident by that river next to a PRISON FULL OF FUCKING PSYCHOS (that's what she was told anyway) in a world FULL OF ZOMBIES SHOWING UP EVERYWHERE, because she wasn't even watching her daugther happily playing with mud. Nor did she feel any need to be close to her in case - I don't know - something happened (doh). Like a zombie showing up. Because it's not like getting your kid near you would be the most natural and sensible reaction.
Next, we have the tank, which turned out to be pretty much as useless as I thought it would. Broke down the fence, made a few holes in - mostly - idiotic places and got blown up. Woo hoo, big deal
And, finally, we have them leaving the most secure place they ever found because the fence fell over. I mean, it's not like they could've REPAIRED it or something. Using the bus and/or guv's men cars to block the hole. Or just shooting walkers down, since there weren't even that many (Rick and Carl delt with many more a few eps before this one).
I know, I know - suspension of disbelief. But sometimes it's just too much.
I guess, at the very least, them moving around will probably be good for the series in general.
