Seriously why do you people want to learn latin?
we were lookin at university courses the other day and we wondered why any1 would want to go to uni to learn greek or latin. The uses are so limited.
English is good enough for me but it would be nice to be able read / speak japanese.

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.
Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

It's the basis of most of the languages of Europe, if you have any aspiration to learn other languages, latin is a very good start. Also, it's the language of the scientific world, medicine, herbalism, zoology, etc. - all of them use latin.
I study latin because I want to comprehend what is written on old walls, in old textbooks, et cetera - not only to be a showoff (I mean it *IS* a part of it), but because it's cultural history.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

If anyone knew 10 languages fluently I reckon it would be very hard for them to think or speak coherently.
For me though:
1. English (native)
2. Portuguese & Brazilian Portuguese
3. Chinese (Cantonese)
4. French
5. German
6. Spanish
7. Japanese
8. Yoruba
9. Latin
10. Punjabi

You're gonna read Lathin just for fun? , so you can read stone tablets, wtf
Then you really got to much time on your hands
Trekkies knows lathin.... | Don’t you think fluency in Latin would give you a great advantage when communicating with anyone who speaks a Latin based languages ? Like most of the European languages .. plus much of the political, legal, nautical & scientific scholarly houses use Latin … why do you suppose children had to learn Latin until the beginning of the 20th century ? |
Im well aware lathin is used in several languages. And I also know my history thank you very much.
Im making dinner as we speak, so please bear with me...
Im always using common sense, well at least trying to make the best out of evrything.
If you go to school you learn what languages people use trough out the world, communications etc etc. Im not talking about German/Naitive/lathin/Sax who are our fundamentals , im talking about learning languages that people actually speak alive..
Do a simple check in your history book/google and you'll see 5 of our biggest languages people use to communicate, when you know all of them, then you should talk about learning languages that no one speaks.
And please don't talk about languages based on "lathin" im talking about a LIVING languge we all speak today.
If you wanna take up lathin, fine by me, I just think it sounds funny, if you don't master the 5 most spoken languages why bother to read lathin?
And again im well aware of lathin in medicine/university's) etc etc

Seems to me that the more you understand about language unto itself the better you will be prepared to confront any language
As apposed to learning one language & still being @ a lose in regards to others ..
