I really like this forum... it very funny to read. The people are cool. BUT...
Some ppl are overreacting.
This game is not THAT bad as some of the ppl wrote.
Yes the 30fps cap sucks. But if you play it personaly you will see, that the 30fps in Rivals are not that bad. Yes you feel, that this is not as smooth as 60fps. But you can play it without any problems.
The steering doesnt suffer from the 30fps cap at all (like NFS the Run did.. it was horrible). The steering is direct and responds very fast.
The graphics are good to very good (depending on the scenery you are driving and what time of day).
The sound is great and the drivingmodel is very arcade but its fun to drive IF you want a arcade game.
If you like the driving from NFS HP 2010 or Most Wanted 2012, then you will like the driving/gameplay from Rivals too.
The cars dont drift that easily like in HP 2010 or Most Wanted. You have to use more of the brakingpower or sometimes the handbrake. And you dont need to drift every corner like in HP 2010...
The world is not as big as i hoped but its enough to drive without driving the same street every 30 minutes!
What bugged me the most was the first 30 minutes. You get some tutorialvideos and some videos you cant interrupt - they treat you like you are a total noob who has never played and racinggame at all.. that was very annoying
Right now.. after about 4 hours i would give the game 80-85%.
So if you liked HP 2010 you will like Rivals too... i promise! You only have to get past the first 30 minutes of annoying tutorials and videos
I agree with 3dcViper, some people just get carried away by all the hate. With some AA the game would look great and the gameplay is not bad. I´m sure the 30fps cap will be patched soon.

That is not something they _can_ patch that quickly. Clearly most of the logic is tied to frame rendering, which is insanely retarded, but to fix that involves some hardcore refactoring just to start with
And I like how you say "would" look great - it should've had AA and looked great already, for a AAA 2013 game
As for the gameplay, I refer to my earlier posts. You can excuse it by calling it arcade as much as you want, doesn't take away the fact that even for an arcade racer it's not even mediocre. See my earlier posts for better ones.
The game looks good as it is, with some AA it would look fantastic. I can´t think of another arcade racer that looks better than this one.
The cap is annoying, but, then again, i have finished the split/second single player and played online and I was ok with it. I hate the cap from a master race standpoint, but I can live with it. At least it stays at 30 all the time unlike s/s.

Can't you just downsample?
Its no problem at all. Still running rockstable with 30fps (i5 4,2ghz + GTX 670) @ 1680x1050 - 2560x1600 and looking really good.
Hey guys, I heard there's also a command line that makes the game better, with various options:
-Game.DerpScale X
X is the value of course and the default is at 8192.0000 from what I understand. You can set it to 2048 for the game to be decent and at 1024 for it to be good or if you're brave enough even at 0 to turn it into a masterpiece. Is it true, guys?! Has anyone tried that?!
but it tanks fps SO HARD. my friend plays with 1.5 scale but he has monster pc, i cant even do 1.15 without getting framerate lag below 30
Yeah, looks amazing
I dont understand why all of you, that does not like the game, tried it at first place and continue to write in its thread at all? I mean i didnt go to SKyrim thread for example and post how shitty and ugly the game it is (because it is for ME). Yeah, the shot looks amazing to some of us, deal with it...
Yes the 30fps sucks, but everything else is fine.
Also i couldn't care less for this peace of shit crap boat racing simulator pCars so stop posting some random shots everywhere...The game will be exactly as "good" as SHIFT2 .
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

Thats right bro... Rivals is a fun game i must admit. I had my doubts but Ctriteron fixed enough issues from their last go at Neeed For Speed to make this new game a blast to play. Always take what is said in here as a grain of salt ..that is what i found. While some in here have a decent head on their shoulders..a lot are just hasty fanboys ready to rip a game apart without really knowing a good game from a bad game.
If you really want a good idea how a game is though..i suggest heading over to neogaf ...most gamers there have a better perception of a good game vs a bad game. Most of those guys are digging Rivals as well!

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I wanted to write a serious reply but after reading that second part, all I can do is smile
Just to clarify, what I wrote before is my genuine personal opinion about the game with no exaggerations or overreactions, I was actually bloody serious despite the sarcastic tone. I didn't even mention or mock the target audience, and perhaps it was a mistake.
