I get my Internet from my mothers place, cuz she only needs the phone and I use the net. I have a router from our ISP (Vodafone) at her place and a 20m cable goes thru the ceiling and it goes into my place / room where the PC is.

I've used a 2nd router (some cheap tp link one for 30 euros) as a hub? plugged in the lan cable, so that I have WLAN for my mobile and my tablet. And another cable went from the TP Link to my PC.

now the TP Link router (2nd one) died and I have to replace it.

I wanted to ask you guys if there's another hardware that would give me access to WLAN in my room and still let me connect it to the PC?

...or do I have to get a router again?

I would just buy another router if it were me.

Yep. That or a "normal" Access Point (without routing functionality) Easiest solution. Plug it in, set it to bridge mode, done.

Technically you could setup a wireless access point for your wireless needs and keep the PC connected directly.
Using a wireless router for that, instead of some specialised device is still more practical, I think, since it's more versatile. But it could need some configuring...

I can recommend Zyxel, ive used d-link, 3com, netgear etc and it's the most stable router i've ever owned.
