True of course, unless a feature is broken (Such as the recent MSAA improvement one of the 13.9 beta drivers did with a 35% gain or some such.) or there's negative SLI/Crossfire scaling which is quite problematic.

Running fine on GTX670 SLI though it seems fps capped. Doesn't matter if it's TXAA 4x or AA off, it's always 60-61fps. Cpu usage is very low on my 3770k,

There really isn't an excuse when the game runs at 30 fucking FPS on your rig JBeckman, which is well above Ubisofts own recommended requirements.
I don't care what drivers Nvidia or AMD release after the release. If your rig isn't enough to handle the game at max settings, then the rest of us with old rigs are screwed

This is the early released version, with probably an improper crack. Kind of like a beta.
Performance will surely be better in the proper retail...

Changed Godray's to Off instead of High - No real performance gain.
Changed Volumetric Fog to Off instead of On - No real performance gain either.
Changed Ambient Occlusion from HBAO+ to Off - Again no real performance gain. (strange.)
Still testing the other settings, running around on the beach after the ship battle.
EDIT: Disabled Motion Blur but it didn't alter framerate either but that was kinda expected.
Reflection Quality from High to Off had a noticeable boost though, some six to eight FPS gain.
Shadows from (Soft) High to Low had another noticeable boost, around some seven FPS gained.
Anti-Aliasing from EQAA (2x 4x) to Off only got about four FPS gained.
EDIT:

Reflection Quality Off
Shadows Low
AA Off
Framerate is now between 42 up to 62 which seems to be a capped maximum.
(EDIT: Re-enabled HBAO+ again since it only makes a one - two FPS difference from where I'm testing performance.)
Environmental Quality from V.High to Low only had a minor FPS difference too.
That kinda leaves reflection quality (Water looks worse with this off but performance is improved decently.) and shadows (soft-shadows are nice but seem to give a noticeable hit to performance.)
(FXAA or SMAA can be used aside from MSAA for a small gain too, depending on GPU model.)

Seems like saves work with updated crack, now if only someone could confirm you don't need to install muPlay but just put files (dll and crap) in the folder.

So lowering the settings pretty much has little to no effect on the game?
Same as with AC 3. Well, that's certainly unexpected. I really can't wait to see how much FPS I get with every setting on low xD

With everything on max except for AA (using SMAA there, love the native support for it by the way) I get around 45-55 fps during the ship battle and 35-45 on shore. That's with an i5-2400, 8Gb RAM and R9 280X. Didn't play it further, waiting for a confirmation of a proper crack.

I completed the game on PS3 did several Assassins Missions other activities clocked in 20 hours still the completion is 50% the game is huge

Still can't progress to Havana with the new 3DM crack. Perhaps they simply used Ali's crack since the first 3DM one didn't even launch the game.
