is the first campaign in this update?

I have the same question. The original poster from China said "all the updates have been included", but it's unclear if the campaign is there or not. Razz

I'm a few missions into the campaign... nothing revolutionary so far :/

It does however seem to be setting itself up for some OFP: Resistance styled missions, hopefully that happens

Can you co-op the campaign?

OFP/ARMA always were progressive games, you start out with little control and end up with more as you get promoted.

Anyone got tips for getting CPU/GPU usage up in MP? its seems totally random. and testing in SP it does fine.

I can be playing, getting 60ish FPS, GPU is at 85-90%, CPU is at 50-60% average, then randomly GPU drops to 20% CPU goes to crap too..and FPS drops to 30-40.
If I set everything to ultra, SOMETIMES i can get it to wake up and use CPU/GPU again and go back up to 50-55fps, then adjust a few things down to get 60 again...then randomly it goes to shit after a few minutes Sad
Ive poked around on the web, and tried every combo of -cpucount, -exthread, -maxmem and what have you as parameters..

maxmem should be redundant now, cpucount also redundant.

ymmv in mp, the netcode is shit still as said by the devs and in need of tweaks. ALso might help if you mention mike what it is in "mp" that you are doing.. Smile

If its hosted missions then dont hold your breath way to many I want release my shit now first types with bad editor use causing shit tons of issues. Small skirmish mp coop games are fine here for me its when you get people running all over maps spawning multi AI etc then it goes back to same issues arma2 had with that..

Good map mission making skills is needed until they really get to grips with optimisation.

you can try one thing though that helps people and that is in your arma3.cfg amend this line

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

I think they have it on something fucking rediculous as normal .. play with those figures betwee 1 and 4 on each and you should with luck get some joy.

Doing Invade and Annex, Moose.
But seems it does it on any MP type thing...domination, I&A, wasteland.
Like game just forgets to use CPU and GPU at a point and FPS drops to the 20's. I can watch my sidebar meters drop to near nothing on usage when it starts crapping out.

only way I can find to fix it partially works.
Set game to ultra and wait until it kicks back in so to speak, and then turn all my bloom, DOF, post processing crap, and such back off, until it happens again. but doesn't always work.

arma games are never finished for a long time after release they are always worked on for the good of the gamers. Dont see it as a "pile of unfinished beta code" its a simulation and its forever growing.

You're getting 60fps on the whole map except for that one area?

Are you a bit daft or just plain...?

Arma 2 = dual core engine

Arma 3.... maybe quad support and gpu support? Which in fact is clearly not the case

no its not the case already spoken about by devs.

just the marina as i go over bridge into the buildings it gets laggy, anywhere other than that area is fine, airport fine etc etc, just something in that village facing the water is the worse ever for me. Or was I dont play stratis no more its too small Altis all the way!

Same here I get 60 fps on average because I leave vsync on, its always 55-60 (other than that random dip thing i seemed to mostly solve with that frames ahead, thanks moose) .I had to FIGHT with arma2 to get that..if I ever did at all.
I can agree arma3 on the whole runs worlds better than arma2 for me.

And all I have is a 2500k@ 4.2ghz, 16G ram and a 7870
