Corsair, so yeah
And I got it from MyCom anyway, they've never given me issues when RMA'ing stuff

Ah MyCom is indeed pretty sweet when it comes to service
I hope it's your ram and not something else

Well, at least one of the sticks threw an error when I had it in there on its own, testing the other one now. Hopefully it's just the memory gone bad
Would be the second time though, Corsair, I am disappoint.

:/ I guess I am really lucky with my stuff, nothing important from the current setup broke down
But then again, I do not overclock.

Tested the second stick, that passed without issues. Stick the first one in again, restore default settings (removing the overclock - memory itself wasn't overclocked, for the record). No error yet ?!
So my IMC has had a falling out with only one of my sticks?

Can't it be a mainboard related issue with both sticks being active? :/

No, first time around the stick I've got running the test now failed then too
I'll just let it do a few passes now, see if it fails. If it doesn't, I'll put the OC back and see what it does then. If it does then it's either my IMC or a VCore issue - either way, it means I'll need to replace my CPU and motherboard as the easy overclock is what keeps my i5-760 so competitive and I have no room left to increase the VCore (~70 degrees under stress load)

Shit's getting weird now.
With my CPU at stock (I stress again, memory is not overclocked beyond its XMP, that is running at 1600 in all situations), both sticks pass mighty fine. With OC, one of them fails; the other one passes just fine. Underclocking the memory to 1200 has no effect either, that one stick still fails then.
I find these results quite puzzling, only one stick failing would indicate that stick being faulty, but it only happening when my CPU is OC'd points to the IMC
Reducing the CPU MP also has no effect, next thing I'll try is reducing the BCLK. If that suddenly makes the "faulty" stick work then it just has to be the IMC
Edit: holy error overload Batman!
Reduced BCLK to 167 and instead of one error, it now generates 80 within 10 seconds
Something definitely ain't right, I'll just go back with these sticks, get them replaced and then make SURE it's not the memory

I am completely puzzled right now
I'll just take the RAM back, get it replaced and then test again with new modules
I think it may be a combination of both, at certain BCLK values the whole thing goes nuts. For some reason the XMP profile won't work when overclocking anymore either, which is just nuts

Soooooo... another BF4 perk, fucking stable OC'ed hardware up?
As of now and in the near future I'll have absolutely no chance of upgrading, right now I'll be happy enough to see this clunker surviving for another year.
Scary thread is scary

Damned trolling hardware , it's using all its nasty tricks to conceive the problem.
But the bastard isn't aware that choosing the mighty Paul was a bad move. He is the wrong guy to mess with when it comes to this stuff. Seriously, good luck..hope it's just the RAM even though the behaviour is kinda suspicious. Sadly I'm the farthest thing from an expert that you'll ever find, so I'll just drop my *please next tests be gentle and reassuring* wish

Well, that's it
Got the RAM replaced anyway, but I'm now sure it was the CPU or motherboard after all. (Co-)Processor events in event viewer, Prime throws an error after like 3 tests already, temperature is definitely higher than it was before.
Alas, my little Lynnfield, thou hast served me well but now it is time to replace thee with something inferior in the form of a CPU where I can't tinker with the BCLK anymore :'(

Well, a little over 3 years of running at 4.2 or 4.4 non-stop except for the past few weeks and many, many torture sessions where I compiled shit on it
SpeedStep disabled, so there was no downclocking at all. All just on a Frio with only 1 fan too (although the exhaust fan is not far behind it). This whole system has just served me very well. I'll see if I can make it last until the 12th by running it at stock, then I'll just build a system from scratch again (that's when the custom 290s will come out - or at least, that's the date atm).
PSU and case will stay where they are though; NZXT offer an alternative top panel part that has USB 3 on it, so I'll just stick that in.
