EDIT: Actually the HD edition is more on par with 2005 ~ 2006 games like FEAR.
(Quite a upgrade from the original, though still very dated but it could be fun despite the visuals.)
Tried this port for a while and the good news is, it's playable with mouse&keyboard. Not perfect of course, but it works without big problems (although the very low FOV can be an issue). The graphical options are minimal (only a slider for the quality, you need to force AA/AF via drivers) and the game is obviously on the rough side because of the handheld nature.
Textures are generally improved, but I believe that models and lighting are nearly the same as the original version (ugly), so don't expect visual candy from this.
I honestly thought it was more an adventure game than an action one, but it's ok. There's some exploration, the horrorish atmosphere seems good although combat is rather simplistic in a click*click*clicky way.
- Fixed the achievement issues with Prison Break, Breaking & Entering, Home Run and Worm Killer.
- Made the final boss (Malatesta) a bit easier to kill.
- Added 16:10 aspect ratio to screen size options.
- Fixed translation issues.
- Fixed subtitle issues.
- Fixed typos.
- Improved controller support.
- Added V-sync options.
- Fixed jumping / movement speed issues.
Patch notes v1.259 (20 Dec 2013):
- Fixed display settings not applying.
- Fixed display settings reverting to defaults.
- Performance issue in hotel fixed.
- Improved achievement checks.
- Added version number to main menu.
Doesn't really fix any bugs as such though, corrects some annoyances however which is nice.
EDIT: I guess fixing the settings would be a bug actually, but I meant gameplay related ones or how to say.
Since it says "incl" does that mean it's the base game plus the updates? (So not only updates?)
