i think i know what that event is... when you are on an insanely good kill streak and pwning the entire server, it crashes for no unknown reason and doesnt save your stats....

The faces+expressions in crysis 3 didn't impress me at all, looked cartoony at best.

I noticed it too for me.
But for me the problem most of the time seems, that i don't know the maps for the game yet and where people most likely will run through.
After some days i most of the time got much better at the game.
Best way seems to try to sneak behind them, where they don't expect you and then fuck them in the ass

Guess you're onto something.... When i used to play Day of Defeat some 10 years ago i was pretty good, even got to CAL-Main with my team (idk if CAL still exists, it was one of the biggest online tournaments a while ago). Nowadays, on my 30's, i suck so bad at fpses it hurts.

@russ80 - faces in bf4 are the one and only impressive thing for me, and they only look good in certain condition, light etc. moreover, only irish and asian chick look good (tho she isnt that impressive). It feels like they emphsize faces and just didnt give fuck about the rest, irish has some good textures on his mug but its nothing impressive. crysis faces looked a lot better for me, especially in expressing emotions (psycho), irish is just stuck in this 2-3 sec animation loop, just replay baku mission and look at him often, when u drive car, when you are on the rooftoops etc, hilarious stuff he has also some serious eye conditions - they often look green/yellow-ish lol

I imagine being older means more responsibilities and less time to practice those "FPS skillz".
10 years ago I could sit down and play something for 4+ hours straight, sometimes 12(KoTOR II marathon that made my eyes bleed ), but these days I can't sit down and play for more than two hours tops, there's too much shit to do and too little time and as a result I suck at the games I used to be good at, but other aspects of my life have improved.

while others are just crashing. Not even one full proper match without crash.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
I pumped majority of settings to low, performance still the same, seems it WILL run damn fine on my old machine even on middle settings, just needs the magic patches BF3 had, near the end of the last expansion it was a charm to play, so smooth.

man, glad im not the only one. im 32 now and i cant hit shit.
in "our times" fps games were different - item/map/respawn control, timing armors/hp, "on ear" playing etc, also most shooters didnt hide skins in colours simillar to the map, moreover, brightskins were something normal as gameplay wasnt focused on spotting enemy 1st lol, but on actual aim skill and other stuff i`ve mentioned above

Had the same feeling but i dont think thats true. When bc2 came out i played the game for hundreds of hours. Playing few rounds now and getting my ass kicked and raging thinking im already good at fps i kicked ass in bc2 i should do the same in bf4. Well only to an extend. You need to put the hours again.. to learn every minor aspect thats specific to this particulary game

Battlepacks you earned in a game that crashed seem to stay. I got to rank 5 in a game yesterday that crashed, lost progress but battlepack didn't disappear, other unlocks did.
I didn't get any xp boosts with preorder or premium battlepacks.
Still don't know if BF4 is worth the money... I played BF3 for more than 200 h and it got very boring. I tried to play it again a month ago and I just couldn't play it for more than 5 minutes.
So I tried BF4 Beta and it just felt the same like BF3. Sure there are some changes and new maps but it got boring really quickly again. The performance was very bad, too (I had to play on low-mid which isn't fun)
First and last BF title I will be buying for a while. I actually have a positive K/D, that's not the problem. I enjoy the graphics and scenery, sometimes the shooting, when there are vehicles involved (I play engineer, I hunt them).
My main problems are all conceptual, it's not the bugs or the crashes - for a good game, I would get over those.
This is the ultimate "the one who spots the enemy first wins" type of game - in other words: everything, which is wrong with FPS gaming IMHO. Very low TTK, close to 0 recoil, slow movement speed, medium engagement distance on average.
Very low skill ceiling for this game. I have never lost a single confrontation in this game, if I saw the enemy first. Not one. Won a few, when I was seen first, but that's probably because the guy attacking me was weak beyond description. Since there's this combination of low TTK, reload necessity and very easy to stay on target + no dodge, it is virtually impossible to kill more than 2-3 people, if you meet them at the same time. In the golden games of FPS, like UT or Quake, you could very easily kill the whole fucking enemy team in one go, if you were that skilled compared to the enemy. Even TF2 has this, to a certain degree, as a scout I go up many times against 4+ people and win, live, and go on to the next engagement (and win that too).
When you break down, what you spend your time with in this game, the actual conflict and shooting, if you're infantry, is less, than 10%. I wouldn't call this good game design.
I think the last couple of years have been a clear spiral down, when it comes to FPS games - ever since consoles became leading platform for FPS development.
Also, community sucks balls, most wouldn't play in team, if their lives depended on it.
