Actually the "riddler shit" is what motivated me to complete around 96% of Arkham City. I take riddler's quest and enigmas over chasing feathers or book pages on Assassin's Creed anyday
but enigma´s quest is basically ac in a nutshell.
you take over the 8 towers so you can fast travel, then you have to destroy 80 relays and find 70-80 files to complete it.
how is searching for over 150 things not ac-esque?
Ok, so you spoiled it a bit for us, but let me make it clear that you weren't only "searching" back in Arkham City, you were solving a lot of puzzles/mini-games, plus you had an ultimate, satisfying goal: catching The Riddler. Surely much better than chasing a book page
That being said, now please tell me they didn't remove the puzzle solving from the riddler's quest. Cause if that's the case then I guess I won't be completing it :\
well sorry for spoiling, but you get this information from enigma pretty much at the beginning once you can travel around the city.
non-story but ac-gameplay spoiler
Spoiler:
you can only take over ALL the 8 towers once you get all the gadgets in the game, every tower can be entered in a different way, so it does make use of your gadgets, but its pretty simple and brief.
the 80 relays just need to be found across the city and destroyed with a batarang.
to make the extortion files show up on the map, you have to beat up certain gang members who are marked on the map, and then give you the position of a set of extortion files.
most of these 80 extortion files are simply hidden in ditches, shafts, etc.
some of them have a challenge to them, like activate buttons quickly in succession before the time runs out, or get the file out of a cage by using your gadgets. overall, only some of them are like this, mostly its just an annoying search - and even more so than in ac games because of the way the city is built.
i finished the towers, relays, and all other sidequests so far, except for the extortion files. only collected one set of 10, because its necessary to unlock a skill, but i sure as hell am not gonna keep collecting them
That being said, now please tell me they didn't remove the puzzle solving from the riddler's quest. Cause if that's the case then I guess I won't be completing it :\
Seems like they have, but if you hold down the detective mode key it tells you "subject not in view" which makes me think that their may be some in there after all.
i didnt have the vent bug, i think i finished that one after the 1.02 update though.
btw, not playing the master race version atm, choppy ps3 one.
thought i should clear that up

I managed to play this Batmen for a couple of hours earlier this morning, definitely a solid game. It's fundamentally Arkham City v1.1a, everything from the gameplay to the animations and hud has basically been left untouched, it plays just like the previous one.
Mouse controls are nearly perfect, no acceleration whatsoever and even if the sensitivity option is missing they feel right (anyway, you can change it manually: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Batman:_Arkham_Origins -> also useful if you want to get rid of the stuttery and annoying intro movies + other fixes).
The graphics are pleasant and the game runs surprisingly good, ~60fps good (DX11/Max details/FXAA High/DerpX disabled 'cause it causes random drops as usual- imnotevenmad.jpg) here on my i2500k/GTX570 combo. It's nothing groundbreaking of course, Gotham feels somewhat lifeless and empty at times and perhaps some of the textures have a lower resolution if compared to City, but at least the huge stuttering that I had in the previous game seems to be gone.
Story-wise seems decent enough for now, the voice acting is really not bad at all (the new actors did a great job imo), and the music is still quite atmospheric..so yeah. So far so good. The only downside that I can see in this game is obviously the complete lack of innovation, but this is a plus for me since other developers would have only added unnecessary dumb stuff. I'm fine with a more of the same if the 'same' in question is good.
Lol, when I ALT+TAB the game and leave it minimized - it INCREASES GPU load and rises my temp up to +10C from usual value (in-game it is fluctuating somewhere around 52-56C).
To be honnest...I have tryed the game for 2 hours roughly...
Ok 1080P...everything maxed out besides FXAA which I left on High...
Vsych OFF...
And I have to say thaT the game is gorgeous..And the 3d on it is simply amazing...
I get between 40 & 80 fps mostly 60 80% of the time...Some huge drops in certain areas but it felt more like something that could be fixed by an eventual update...and I havint tryed out the latest nvidia drivers eather...Still have alot of testing to do but all & all...alot better then AC in it's raw first beginnings...I agree...
Cutscenes are running like at 400 fps for me so no issue as of yet...
Anyways to be continued...
Cheers!!

The only point where I've noticed minor frame drops is when I deliver the final finishing blow to an enemy (in slow-mo). Apart from that, it's rock solid at 60fps with everything maxed out, High FXAA, no motion blur & Ambient Occlusion. Piss-X was off and would only turn on after a game reset. I have set it to Normal though. Let's see how it goes.
As for the game itself, I love the start. Might I dare say it looks even more intriguing than Arkham City? I mean I was extremely excited for Arkham City, but for this, not so much. I was probably all set to have a "meh" experience, but with storyline being laid outright and that marvelous OST, I'm really looking forward to having a good time with it. It's good to see they have kept every gameplay aspect intact from Arkham City.
game started up and ran perfectly fine first time... then the sound dropped out, so i closed the game..
starting it again, my vid card driver crashes when i get to the bit where i can load my savegame. wtf man... wtf
edit: yeah ok, fixed the problem.
apparently the game REALLY hates being run on pcs, and prefers console levels of resolution. putting it back to 720 works... apparently a resolution as high as 1080 gives it an anxiety attack or some shit.
Haha, second part of the battle with Electrocutioner (when ~50 thugs jump down) was quite hardcore since I'm playing on hard (which means 3-4 hits and you are dad) and my block moves do not register at all (1/10 may be works) due to how awesome and bugfree this next game.
how do i kill that asswipe Slade :D He keeps destroying me.
PS I don't like this fight at all, never had problems with the 2 previous games. And the way it's done camera wise it's just meh..inconvenient..
When camera start to change and you feel like scripted sequence starts - don't attack, wait until you get counter opportunity (enable hints, this will help) and then just keep countering in time. Example: when you attack him few times (attacking him first) he rolls over you and then you have opportunity to hit him once or twice, after that the spoken sequence starts.
Could it be that after all the crap GFWL got in the past two games regarding save issues was instead tied to developers that cannot into save, first with rocksteady and now with wb montreal?

"Saving" showed up several times during my playthrough, but it doesn't matter where it saved and if you have backups, it'll always load the exact same level, just before the Deathstroke fight
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
I dunno, I killed Deathstroke and then quit. After I startedthe game again - it was exactly after the fight.
Btw, that bugged comm tower is bugged TWICE - you can unlock longer range for Cryptographic Hacktool and hack it from OUTSIDE. Riddler locks the gate and another dead end haha.
I'm not sure I understand? I managed to glitch through the wall before but you just fall down, through the whole tower and all textures into death. Next time you restart from the top of the tower.

Almost getting there.
Anyway, dont got too far from the tower, there is a big billboard near it.
