please post a short review, I so want to believe this game is better than expected.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Only the story and dialogue can save this title. The gameplay is absolutely generic, looks more or less identical to action rpg games for consoles. Probably what they were aiming for.

I bought it from Gamersgate so I don't get the key until tomorrow afternoon (Likely when I won't be home.) but I was looking forward to the game though it might have a few flaws. Smile

Been playing this for an hour now and so far I like it a lot. Razz

The fighting seems a bit clunky, but with the preorder weapon killing is quite easy in the beginning.
Gfx wise it's ok and voice acting is a bit of hit or miss,as to be expected.

My biggest problem is the save mechanism...THERE IS NO SAVING besides checkpoints. The fuck? Evil or Very Mad

But to be continued, need to play more. Razz

did you finished the tutorial? maybe you cant save in it cos i saw this

Q: Are you able to save manually either by menu or quicksave, or is it by checkpoint only?

A: Story-related Checkpoints and manually saving are both possible.

Dunno,I just passed the first cave and I'm in the town now. Still no save possibility...
I'll play more and see if I'm still in the tutorial phase. Smile

Haha...typical. Very Happy
Well it's a weird choice in a rpg game, but it remains to be seen how annoying the checkpoint system is going to be. :/

Well ya,but in this one you got dialogue choices that affect the game...I much prefer to manually save and try out things.
Instead of now, you choose a dialogue and maybe not be satisfied with the outcome, only to have to backtrack an hour or so from the last checkpoint and try again. :/

it's all fine and dandy unless ur character says something you didn't have in mind at all which is quite possible with a dialogue wheel mechanic. Very Happy

Watching the stream while some bits look good others look distinctly flat and underwhelming, the graphics in parts look very bland. I noticed mention in the chat stream about the shadows and I agree. Character graphics are also very low...

I think Sweet FX will be needed, it's not giving me that impact

Seems okay, as said before kinda low budget though. Getting some really irritating pausing during combat though, anyone else experiencing this?
