when you beat the game and go to the new city, you can enter the safari: every friend in your friendlist, playing the game, will have a special safari with 3 pokemon inside with a fixed type.
for example i've got a poison safari if you enter in mine, with seviper, the evolution of the garbage-garbage pokemon and another shitty bug/poison; my sister safari got ponyta, charmeleon and the 2°nd stage of fennekin.
in that reddit, you can see what safari they got and what you will get once inside: i finally got my frogradier protean thanks to this and i'm breeding the hell out of him! |

it's the second evolution for the water-starter, that have a special ability called "protean" that adapts his pokemon type to the move you are using.
grass type vs frogadier, frogadier uses a fire move learned from breeding/hm/whatever and his type changes to a fire one.

Yea. I think it's better to either paralyze or put them to sleep, same with catching the legendary.
Have not been playing all that much, just got 5th badge last night and picking up Fire Emblem tomorrow...Hope I will finish this sometime soon.
