Damn you ixigia, for a moment there I was sitting in panic, picturing in my mind some kind of apocaliptic future, if you know what I mean.

No way to verify that, so might as well disregard it completely for now. Bethesda likes to announce their games roughly a year before their release, and usually have those releases in the fall, so they just might have a teaser prepared for Quakecon/GamesCom - both are in august, after all.

Quote: | IGN made a post “Can Bethesda Make Fallout 4 the Best Game Of The Next Generation?” Fans of the game believe that they will, but there was one thing that did stand out above everything else.
“First things first, I know that Fallout 4 is currently in active development at Bethesda.”
Fans enjoyed hearing this of course but some asked if IGN knew something that no one else did. Of course we wouldn’t be surprised by this as they are close to some of the big names.
However we did hear some more news about Fallout 4.
This news came from one of the designers who had worked on Fallout 2 along with Fallout: New Vegas. The designer said:
“We actually were kicking around some ideas after New Vegas for cool locations for the next Fallout. One of our designers Nathanial Chapman mentioned it’d be really cool to do a Fallout New Orleans. Have an entire city that had like a dam structure and lots of factions and tensions fighting in that city. And then our lead programmer on New Vegas, Frank Kowalkowski, he really wanted to do a Fallout that is set in San Francisco,” Avellone said. “In terms of stuff on the East Coast, there was this really brief mention of this region called the Erie Stretch in the Fallout 3 DLC [The Pit]. And I am really curious to see if they’ll bring that region back in future Fallout instalments because it seemed like a really intriguing location to explore.” |

Hmmmm I'll get excited when there's something more concrete info than that.
As in where it will take place, who is behind it (it would be awesome if CA and a few more guys behind FO:NV were tagging along but that seems unlikely), which factions/equipment will be on the game, etc.
BUT it's definitely at the top of my most expected games list

I wonder if Fallout 4 is announced @ Spike VGA show in December, just as Skyrim was

Would be cool. Bethesda should get over it real quick too, then concentrate all efforts on the nest TES game.

As long as GAMEBRYO is out of the picture... and not in the Skyrim way ("yes we changed the engine"... not quite I say)

In fact, I'd rather have the skyrim version over that piece of shit

I don't mind the latest gamebryo, especially since the engine is highly moddable, and that's something the Elder Scrolls series can't do without IMO..
Plus their latest ran actually quite fine on most rigs

I have no problem with Gamebryo ("Creation" chortle..) being used for FO4, it was fine in FO3 and FONV and, IMO, a better choice than CryEngine 3 (love that performance), Frostbite 3 (love that performance), or Unreal Engine 3 (love that open-world streaming)

I'll take their engine over any other if it means continued mod support on the same level their earlier games have had. And hopefully once Witcher 3 comes out and shows you CAN have open world and pwetty graphics & animation, Bethesda will stop being so complacent.

I also got the vibe last week. Installed Fallout 3 GOTY along with a handful of mods, and it kept freezing like every 10 minutes under Win 7 64-bit. I didn't even get to complete the bloody tutorial. Got all pissed off after 2 days of fruitless experimentation and uninstalled the game.
Fuck it.
