I currently have Asus MX279H, and would like to change to:
1. Asus 3D LED VG278H/HR
2. LG 3D IPS 27" Monitor/TV 27MT93S
I am looking for 3D gaming on PC, and PS3, but also for standard things on computer (internet, office, etc..) ?!
What do you suggest ?!

i can't stress enough how overrated 3D is. it's not worth it. other than that, these LG 27" TV/Monitors are very nice actually. color are very accurate because of IPS panels, good response time for FPS gaming, low input lag. i can easily recommend LG 27" IPS monitor, just not 3D one.

As far as i know, the LG one uses some shit cinema 3D which is not real stereoscopic 3D. Gete the Asus one (even tho its TN but you want 3D so stereoscopic all the way). You need nvidia card for it tho + nvidia 3D glasses.

Yes, I have GTX Titan GPU, and I am sure that this Asus will be ok. I just heared somewhere that there is some incompatibility between 3D and Windows 8. I am not sure if this is truth.
Also, I want to use this monitor for 3D gaming on PS3 ?! Is that possible with this Asus monitor ?!
In regards to LG, I know its IPS, but I am not sure what will be the performance with this LG in the standard usage for office, internet browsing, how is it in PC games, what is needed to play games in 3D on PC, what is needed for PS3 , etc...
How real big difference in the colors and images between IPS and TN LED ?!
Please advise !

It is stereoscopic 3D (is there any other kind?) on LG, it just uses passive glasses instead of the active shutter ones, and most people/reviews seem to agree that this is the best 3D tech right now. It's easy on the eyes, and exhibits no usual 3D drawbacks like crosstalk or loss of brightness. Its only drawback is that it reduces the resolution to some degree, which could be an issue for gaming, but that's not something I can comment on.
Also I don't know if it's compatible with Nvidia's 3D solution.

Yeah it is stereo i had some brainfart, but its a 60hz panel and 3D doesnt look as good as on real 120hz panel. Nvidia works only on 120hz nvidia 3D vision certficated monitors, and it does look good (i had 3D setup when i had my 570 SLI back in the times).

So, what are the suggestions ?
Having in mind that I currently have Asus MX279 IPS, how much difference in image quality I will loose by going to TN LED, although from specs side (120mhz, 2ms, 3D, etc..) VG287H is much better ?!
What about LG, is it worthy ?! How is 3D , and display , having in mind that it is combo PC monitor/TV with exceptionally high price for 27" ?!
Please give me some valuable advices...
Thank you!

I do have a passive IPS 3D TV/monitor by LG, although not the same model and I like it. I don't play games in 3D though. Mostly because it's necessary to sit a bit farther away from the screen to get the 3D to work properly without crosstalk.
Regarding PC games - if the game natively supports 3D than you're good to go. If it doesn't support it, you will have to use software like TriDef to run the game in 3D. Not all games are supported and it can be buggy sometimes. I believe LG owners get a free LG version of TriDef.

Well, 120 Hz screen + active shutter glasses = 60 Hz per eye; isn't that so? With this passive screen you get 60 Hz per eye as well. The downside is that each eye gets to see only half of the resolution. It still looks good though.

i forgot to mention this earlier. be careful with buying LG 3d monitor, because they are passive 3D they have horizontal lines, and when you sit at normal monitor viewing distance you can sometimes see these lines on bright content, at all times even when not viewing 3D. very very annoying. that's why i don't recommend LG 3D monitor, but 2D ones are great. maybe they fixed this in later models but i doubt it.
