Works fine on windows 8 here, Skidrow GOTY edition.
I did have a problem with my steam version of GTA4 not working and that was down to GFWL not being installed

Ok, did they say that they will definitely remove GFWL from the older Arkham games, or was it just repeated by journos without checking, as usual?
And if they did, any ETA on it? I might replay them soon, but not before that shit is gone from these games.

As far as I know no one said anything like that.
Rumors, some steam registry changes etc yes, but no dev/publisher made such an announcement I believe.

I think they will convert BAA and BAC to steam version soon cuz both games got
Removed SupportsCDKeyCopyToClipboard – 1
Removed ShowCDKeyOnLaunch – 1
just like BioShock 2

And as per the NeoGaf link in the other Batman thread since LIVE is gone the save info and such won't carry over.
(Same with DLC content, unsure if there's some plan for that or if you are meant to just rebuy it all.)

I guess that they will release one version and everyone will download all dlc , but non GOTY will need brucie wrapper or just use steam emu.
My GFWL key for BAC normal version is still giving me invalid.

Heh, I checked Gamersgate and they had a second key available now specifically for Steam activation plus the product pages have been updated to show Steamworks instead of LIVE.
(The key gave access to Arkham City, Arkham City GOTY - why both? - and UnusedApp200269 whatever that might be.)

LIVE encrypts the profile and save data so if that goes there's nothing to be done about the files unless someone makes a third party conversion program but that's probably pretty cumbersome.
Unsure how XLiveLess or similar hacks fared but the format is probably changed completely thus there's no compatibility there either.

My copy of AC was a Steam key from an Nvidia promotion. I didn't buy the Harley Quinn DLC. Now I have both Batman Arkham City and Batman Arkham City GOTY in my library which even have separate sets of achievements, so I guess I got the DLC for free. Good one, WB.

It's not an error. Similarly to the BioShock 2 situation since DLCs on GFWL do not have keys they cannot tell you "just copy paste your old keys to reactivate your DLC on the Steam platform".. because there are no keys. So they can either make you lose all your GFWL-purchases DLCs or give everyone the GotY and be done with it.
Since these are older games they've decided to do the latter. Still, nice of them.

So does anyone know what the folder name is in 'SteamApps\common' for the new version of Batman: Arkham City GOTY? I don't want to have to download 19GB again.
