I guess this closed beta is like all other Blizzard betas in that the US get all the keys and EU have to beg for the beta scraps left over with crappy giveaways and camping out at facebook and twitter.
Oh well I won't lower myself just to get a beta key for a trading card game.

I think until this last wave, the only way outside of the US was to win one or buy one. I'm just shocked these things are selling for $200-$300+ ... If I'd known that, I'd have sold my key I won from Facebook too. I won a key on FB, then got an email from Blizzard with a key.. saw someone bitching about people selling them on Ebay and then saw them listed on Ebay for $250 for one and $375 or some crazy number for the other one. So I figured I might as well see if I could cash in and I found a place that had a middle man to do the transaction and sold it for $200. Cha ching.

The way I understand it, the account wipe will not be immediately followed by an open beta. Instead, they will gradually increase the number of "closed beta" participants before they make it an open beta.
So, what's the best way of applying for an EU beta key nowadays? Just the battle.net account tickbox?

Some nice improvement.
I'm pretty sure there will be a wipe at end of Closed Beta and after that, there won't be any more wipes. So whatever you get in open beta, stays for the release. |

Yes, but there won't be open beta immediately after the wipe. They'll likely increase the number of invites and then roll out open beta *soon*, but it won't coincide with the wipe. At least that's how I understand it.

So i have been watching some vids from TB about this game, it kinda got me interested into learning such stuff.
Any kind of similar game out there (that is not TOO old  ) and i suppose there are better commentators/videos to watch when i want to learn about these kind of games. Any suggestions?

Yea, I would not recommend Magic to a person who has no idea about card games.
Hearthstone is pretty simplistic compared to Magic. It's really idiot-proof.
It's super easy to pick since there are almost no rules to the game.

Ah, well just put the download from it in there.
Googled around a bit and found this SolForge (link) and Card Hunter (link)
Now i just tried some card hunter, but it has a board and shizzle, altho it seems nice, i don't think it's something you can step right in to.
Gonna check the other one out right now, but yeah, i'm looking for a tad more casual one, like Blizzard theirs is.

Card Hunter is actually pretty fun and really casual! I suggest you try it.

sausje - If you want to learn more about Hearthstone I would suggest watching Kripparrian videos on twitch. Guy consistently wins 9 times (maximum) in the arena, has massive amount of experience (400 hours or so of playing HS already) and in general is much better player than TotalBiscuit. After watching few of his streams I am already pretty familiar with the game, strategies and all cards in it despite not playing it (had no luck with beta key:<) .

Meh. For some it might it p2w but I didn't get that vibe. Sure, you get cards faster but that only matters in ranked mode. In arena mode, you basically build your deck from random 3 cards that pop on your screen.
So arena mode is really one you will be want doing anyway. It kinda takes skills to pick best cards and win that deck. Plenty of noobs in that who has no idea how to build a deck at all. |

they wont do open beta untill way after blizcon, all blizcon people will get closed beta keys ... and that they wont wipe anymore, is just beyond me ... wat a fucking bs that people can get 3 months advantange, these goons at blizzard really on their crack
