The difference in setting, time of day and environment in general is what made me a bit sceptical of this shit storm as well. I'll believe it when I see (or rather play) it. Until then, all is well and Battlefield.
why the fuck would they cripple the pc version against ps3 and 360 at this time? Makes no sense whatsoever. They COULD however cipple it against the new generations now to make them look good.
Not investing time and effort into optimization of the PC version is also a form of crippling in my book. That's what I meant.
When he said in that interview that they are pushing the graphics a lot farther on the One and PS4, he had consoles on his mind and not the PC. Now if it was a written statement that had been carefully thought out then yeah that would be bad news for the PC version. So yeah I'm still sure that the PC version will look as good or better than the next gen console versions.

Precisely. Recently Bethesda had a similar fuck up. They said they've been demoing the PC version of The Evil Within and while that looks better than the PS360 versions will, it doesn't look as good as the nextgen versions will.
I mean if you take this literally it basically means the PC version will get the prevgen graphics, right?
But that's not what they meant as they clarified later on neogaf. They meant that when the nextgen versions are ready, and the PC version WILL be one of them, the PC version they've been demoing right now won't look as good as them, because it's a work in progress and it's getting prettier all the time.
Similarly I don't believe Ubisoft even realized that what they said could be interpreted as it has been in this thread. It wasn't a carefully planned statement or something..
Nor does what we know of the PC version, that it has been ported to consoles, that it features DX11, tessellation and other high level visual tweaks in partnership with nvidia jell with the idea of it merely "leading the PS360U vesions".
Also to me it's pretty funny the fact that if Ubisoft had replied "we are pushing the PC graphics much further" people wouldn't believe it's anything more than marketing speech for "uh.. yeah.. higher resolutionzzzz". But now that they said the opposite it MUST be true!
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

I guess PC gamers are more accustomed to bad news than good
Besides, not everyone will be playing it on max, not everyone own dual 690 or TITAN(s). So why bother?
All games should be in 8bit now, not everyone owns a high-end rig with RIVA TNT.
Well, if you tried to understand what I said in the context of last the discussion on last pages instead of hurrying to reply - you did avoid looking like a tool.

Same shit as the Aisha trailer... inb4 Ubi announce that the average PC isn't capable of running Disrupt Engine properly so they're releasing the PC/PS3 and 360 versions on Disrupt-LE

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense considering that it is now confirmed even by the developers themselves that PC version of AC IV is getting the next-gen version
Seriously, PC is getting the next-gen version, how often must we go over it?
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense considering that it is now confirmed even by the developers themselves that PC version of AC IV is getting the next-gen version
Because we all know Ubi never lie and they just love the PC

You can repeat it as many times as you want, I won't believe it until I see the game running in front of me and not via some constantly-contradictory videos.

Have they lied about using a lot higher resolution assets in AC3? No. Do you think they would get away with a 360/PS3 version on a PC when they said it would get a next-gen version?
And do either of those two videos up there look remotely as good as what was shown earlier? Don't answer, it's rhetorical Whatever guys, we're all entitled to believe what we want. I don't trust Ubi and I won't believe anything they say (still waiting on the inevitable delay, oh hai South Park) until the game is running on my own PC directly in front of me, but it's safe to say that the recent footage and interviews have dampened my hype quite extremely.
