Yes I know man. When I start up the game its around 850-60 and when I am about to quit the game its about 1300. Later on it will be back to 800s but its not like I care anymore Laughing

Is that farm even safe? I always see hordes hanging around there Smile

If you mean McReady's farm - its safe but in general the zone around it will be hordes infested rather often because there is just one outpost close to it. If you go to Savini or Snyder's, the safe zone is huge and you will be walking walking in a ghost town. Just look what I have done ->

With this setup you will rarely see a single zombie in your "town" Laughing let alone hordes or infestations. If any horde decide to attack your base they will not be able to go even close to it because they will be blown by the traps in the first few meters inside the perimeter Smile

Messed around with the exe file and a hex editor to see the various console commands, there is no hud_hide cvar so that's why you can't toggle the interface on or off and instead there's a group of ulhud_ cvar's for controlling those menus like the minimap and such but I can't get them to work or at least they don't seem to do anything when called via autoexec.cfg (Or system.cfg) and also there's a few cm_ and zm_ related cvar groups for the community (survivors) and zombie management though it's mostly debug commands such as forcing missions to never fail or spawning a specific zombie or event such as a infestation.

There's also a command for disabling zombies funnily enough (zm_disable = 1) though it breaks the game since zombies are needed for many of the missions. Razz
(Which isn't surprising at all since it's a zombie survival game, he he.)

No no, never sceptical about the GAME. I fell in love with this the moment I saw it, I was just sceptical about the "persistent" world. So far it hasn't affected me because of two reasons;

1. I've been keeping on top of morale and supplies (though just barely with supplies, I've pretty much cleaned out the first area Laughing)
2. I haven't put the game down much yet Razz

Nine fucking hours, I played for nine fucking hours and my main character Marcus got swarmed trying to help some ungrateful useless cunts being besieged. A bunch of zombies pounce on him and it said "press B to escape" - I was hammering B like a fucking spastic having a fit, but nothing happened so he died. 9 hours, he was the only guy with Leadership and all his stats were at 6, some at 7.

Fuck permadeath. Fuck it up its stupid fucking ass.

I lost that black girl on console when I was giving this a try a while back. She was a beast with edge weapons. Then she got caught between two hordes while doing some mission or something.

Then I lost the radio girl's brother I had to rescue in a mission with those rednecks. A big'un tore him in half.Very Happy

Yeah. Permadeath sucks, but that's what makes the game special. Getting attached to characters and losing them creates stories worth telling. Handled a million times better than in the new xcom since here people have personalities and can be made really unique.

Fuck, now I want to play again, but with the PC version right around the corner, I guess I'll just wait.

You are not playing right then mate. You have to play with all your chars and pick the ones with the best perks. The rest with the standard perks, I mean the not "special" survivors, and the ones who are drunks or other scum, have to be killed. So when you have a bunch of nice chars just switch often and you will have a pack of badassses and even if somebody dies its not a big deal because the rest of your gang are killing machines too. Also the badass characters don't need saving. Even if you don't go help them they will do fine and the punishment is just a few morale points (maybe 10 or 15 I think).

Right now I have just experts in everything who happen to be cops and soldiers, 80% of them a born leaders. I think the only guy who is not "special" is the mechanic. With team made of 95% badass characters you can do your stuff all the time because you don't need to babysit anybody Smile Its possible to finish the game with a sole survivor (and Lilly ofc) though.

Trying this approach as well now, I just feel gutted about manually commanding a char into a pack of zombies just to make room in my compound.

Do you have any idea how long it takes to train people's skills up? I tend to switch between 3 characters because the rest of the 13 members of the camp all have ONE skill point in each skill except the useless ones like "Trivia" - training all those up to be "experts" will take an ungodly amount of time Neutral

Incidentally, how long is the timer between "relocate home base"? I moved into a new place that was "supposedly" a good one but it was tiny, smaller than the Church Facepalm

As for 2nd, I've exited the game and changed my date to a week from now and not many bad changes happened.
Lost a bit of morale, the military came to the city and that's it.
Well, the devs said that the changes will be lessening with the geometric progression the longer you're off.
The only thing that's really annoying is the resolution.

Btw, did anyone figure out how the day-night cycles function?

No it doesn't. The *DESCRIPTION* states the name, how many people are REQUIRED and how many materials are REQUIRED. It does not say how many plots it can hold nor how many beds.

So yeah, I just encountered a really nasty bug... gamebreaking actually.... all the mission givers? They run off. They run away from where they were and it forces you to chase them all over the map, when you catch up to them you fail the fucking mission because "you left the mission area" -- IF by some fucking MIRACLE you catch up to them in time, get back to the mission area in time, they run off again. I can't change character because I'm perpetually stuck on this mission while the quest giver runs all over the map.

~edit~

Quit game, reloaded, all quest givers are back where they started and my game had rolled back about half an hour. Suits me, that bug was driving me up the wall.

Sorry to hear about the bug, glad it got sorted(somewhat) though, hope it doesnt happen again. worst bug ive come around so far is runners getting stuck, but it usually solved itself and if not drag some zombies there and its fixed. but i havent had the chanche to put in near as many hours as you
