Not for this game. They plan a separate game for that, last I heard.

I couldn't resist so I tried this early access beta, definitely better than I expected. Razz M&KB are rudimentary for now and not exactly usable, but the rest seems quite bugs-free.

It's not a pretty game (low quality textures, so-so models, some unrealistic lighting effects), though the visuals are much more polished and 'clean' if compared to the console version (no nasty pop ups for example) and the framerate is okay too on Maximum. Ultra on the other hand is unoptimized as hell for some weird reason, it must be dat KC's advanced motion blur Cool Face

Unless there's some game breaking stuff later on, I'd say it's perfectly playable through the end with a gamepad (which is really bad when it comes to the shooting part, but I'm trying to get used to it).
The game itself is pretty damn solid though, there's complete freedom, exploration is rewarding, the combat system is nice - albeit the animations are rough, and the "strategic" part is well implemented as well with all the upgrades etc. Not bad. Smile

Finally starting to learn the ropes a bit.

Tip; Build outposts and trap them, if they connect to your "Home" they won't spawn zombies within that range anymore.

Also, if you are out of a resource tell your radio-woman to look for the certain type of goods you require.

I guess to get new survivors for your base, you must be best friends with the other survivor outposts out there?
If yes, then how to gain their trust? There are only some rare random popping up missions to help them. But it will take literally some rl days to get at least one to full Surprised
Had luck in the first base with one of them, but that was it.

I've played for an hour so far and already I know this was well worth the purchase, it looks incredible! Visuals are a bit "meh" but the performance is absolutely top-notch on "Max", setting to "Ultra" is okay for the most part though it has a tendency to drop to 40s - even with the StarCitizen/Crysis3 SLi bits set. Still, it's not a "pretty" game anyhow so "max" is fine. Playing with a controller isn't so bad either, given the scarcity of ammo and the noise of firearms, I intend to play melee as much as possible anyhow.

Oh... and seeing this running at 60 rather than the 15-25 chug-a-thon on the 360 is just PC Master Race

Pooha crazy 4 hour session, wish it had a sandbox mode already. Been way too much exploring around and they won't let me build outposts or new home base because I haven't done certain missions yet :/ Laughing

Get this, switch it to Xbox pad emulation and you're all set. Everything works 100% in my case, including analogs, vibration etc.

I have fixed the non calibrated crosshair bug. I just switched to 16:9 and 720p which is the default calibration setting for the 360 version and everything is fine now. I can finally use my guns. I have the 2 black bars because my monitor is not 16:9 but still its working and I don't really care much about the black bars.

This. I'm using a PS3 controller with the base MIJ driver, though I strongly recommend NOT using the ultra-shitty MIJ application. Get this instead;

http://betterds3.ciebiera.net/

Doesn't require an internet connection, doesn't have ads all over it, allows on-boot 360 profile selection (in your face, MIJ!! Evil or Very Mad) and you can freely define as many profiles as you want.

I got the church secure, morale is right up the zombie horde are cannon fodder now to the home.. I was about to move yesterday when I lost another fracking member or they kept going missing..

so I was always at bloody 7 members and needed 8.. many radio calls out for survivors needing a place to live but always returned with nobody out there.

so I just cleansed the fucking churchville area of it all and its like so much more relaxed now Very Happy

I am dreading logging in though shortly because they have all had night to fuck things up :O

the Mcready farm house is all ready to move into I just cant get a member to make it happen.. I even have the grange people doing stuff now and asking for help but they never also seem to talk to me or want to join forces and live together nada..

Does the "Radio home" function even work? I've explored so much of the town outside the church, saw plenty of supplies and pressed "(Y) Radio Home" but nothing happens.

well dont forget you need influence as well to get a runner out to pick up goods, also it seems a fair amount of the time you have to make sure the place is clear of zeds or sometimes you have even cleared/searched all the resource nodes in that place you want colleciton from.

I played this fucking game for hours yesterday ... damn..

I guess I am DAMN lucky then. No one died yet, no body ever went missing, usually when I play I have more than 1300 influence and 20+ survs... They were so many that I had to kill them on purpose. Now I am down to 16 and I will kill even more because I don't need that many useless weight.
