Showrunner: J. H. Wyman (Fringe)
Executive producers (not really involved with the creative process I would think): J. J. Abrams & Bryan Burk
Production company: Bad Robot
Network: FOX

Genre: science fiction/crime drama/buddy cop comedy

Starring: Karl Urban, Michael Ealy and a bunch of other actors, check the details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Almost_Human_%28TV_series%29

Quote:
The series follows what happens 35 years into the future when humans in the Los Angeles Police Department are paired up with life-like androids, as a detective who has a dislike for robots ends up being teamed up with one with emotional feelings.

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=WCdHiZsSPjg

Pilot looks action packed and really expensive!

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

the thing about JJ Abrams shows are he only makes concepts not the series ... it means a series that has no meaning or simple put it does not know where to go ...

Lost , every season was something different
fringe was like lost ... it didn't knew where to go
Alias... same ...

This Pilot looks OK , but its only a trailer from a 1h pilot that is the basis for his concept ... Total Recall 2070 anyone

yeah .... one shows end , new has to be made

Looks kind of cool Smile

I don't know what it is but there is something about Fringe and this I like. Something Abrams manages to put into it while being a producer.
And for the record I didn't like Lost.

Honestly, idk why people even bother mentioning JJ Abrams. The man gets way too much praise AND criticism for material he has nothing to do with. LOST was pretty much Damon Lindelof and Carleton Cuse's baby. Fringe was carried by Joel Wyman and Jeff Pinkner.

Hard to say how Almost Human will turn out, it'll come down to the writers who stick with the show. LOST was always fantastic when Brian K. Vaughn and Drew Goddard were writing, and Fringe was pretty much God-tier when Jeff Pinkner was writing. And I don't care what anyone says, "The Constant" and "White Tulip" remain to two of the most satisfying hours of television I've ever seen.

The thing with JJ is that he was the creator/co-creator of Alias, Lost, Fringe, while in this one he is merely a executive producer from the get go. The only reason that he is executive producer seems to be that he owns Bad Robot. Razz

JJ carried the title of executive producer up to the end of LOST, but he wasn't even 0.1% involved after he directed the first episode of Season 3.

Love or hate Abrams, he's not involved in the writing of this, it's this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._H._Wyman that is behind it.

He is not a factor.

'Almost Human': J.J. Abrams on Tricks to a Sci-Fi Procedural, Fox Releases New Poster

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/almost-human-jj-abrams-tricks-632596

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

its gonna be "monster-of-a-week" type of show? :/ It could be done ok like x-files, but Id much prefer a strong continuous story with no shitty fillers.

It'll probably be like Fringe... Have an overarching plot but most episodes (well, at least during the early seasons of Fringe) are just "Mystery of the week". I'm not a fan of that either, though I did enjoy Fringe once I gave it a good try...

That's why I only watched the first season of Fringe. The amount of meaningless standalone episodes was way too damn high for my tastes.

But no JJ said this will be even less! serialized than Fringe.

J.J. Abrams wrote:
It feels very distinct from the world of Fringe, which was a much more serialized show about this dysfunctional father-son, this romance that went over not just years but worlds," he said. "This is a show that doesn't quite get into that level of serialized storytelling."

Fringe started as monster-of-the-week and turned to a good overarching plot, so did Supernatural. I like Urban and the black guy was very good in Sleeper Cell. I'll be watching this one.

- That's a document pitched to execs. They "lied" to them so that they get their trust to make the show.

- JJ talking about Almost Human was pitching it to us, the viewers. Talking about what kind of show is, so that we tune in.

There's a difference.
