Just bought Cyber Acoustics Subwoofer Satellite System (CA-3602a) and it has aux in port (using to listen to satellite radio).
Speakers are going into green port in pc tower using on board sound (no sound card).

Whenever I want to listen to pc sound, I have to unplug the aux in wire. I dont want to do that, but somehow control this either through windows 7 settings or something else. Hardware Sound control panel only shows 'speakers' set as default. No other options. Maybe I need sound card to do this not part of mobo?

Any advise appreciated!

I dont think there is a way to. Cant control hard wiring on a speaker with windows. The aux doesn't even involve the PC in anyway. its a direct "plug it in, the speakers play it".As far as windows knows, there is a sound output jack it can send sound to, completely separate and unknown is the AUX input to the speakers. Windows/ your sound card has no idea what is plugged into it or even if the sound its sending out the green jack is being used or going to a dead end loop while the AUX is being feed into the speakers.

And if the AUX jack works like headphone jacks on some stereos no way to do it without unplugging it. if its the simple "plugging in a source separates the 2 contacts from the other connection" its a mechanical thing, so even a switch wired between the aux plug and its source would do no good. As the pressure and size of the plug is what separates the contacts, and the plug fits between them to make it the 'new' input.

Basically you have a set of speakers with 2 inputs, with a mechanical toggle switch built into the AUX plug that says "play this input, or this one"

So everyone who wants to listen to their ipod or whatever in the AUX port of the pc speakers that is plugged into tower green port has to unplug everytime? Hmm. I though there would be software control for this. I hate to buy another set of speakers just for my AUX device. I prefer to keep one set of speakers to control pc sound and aux.

*Actually I do have SDPIF port hooked up to my TV set connected to my PC, so I might just use my TV Speakers for the PC but still prefer not to.

You probably can get speakers that have software that does that, but it would have to be USB, or bluetooth or something to be able to have that feature of 'talking' to the PC.
Some way for your PC to do more than just passively send out headphone level sound signals out of its green jack.
As it is now your PC knows no more than there is something plugged into that green hole, and it's conductive to electricity, so it tries to pump sound out of it.
