I think this is a disaster in its current state .
Manual shooting is broke certainly first time shooting in the box
No fouls in 7 games
Responsiveness is awful
Advanced shooting and passing just means advanced ai help
Visuals considering the hype about fox are underwhelming
Sound is also garbage
Not sure modders can fix this

You've got no fouls because you don't know how to use LS+RS in dribbling and you 99% have the auto-feint option ON. Advanced shooting is broken as I already mentioned in the previous page. Manual shot is great, you must "gather" your shot in first time shooting. Problem is that manual finesse shot is not working and it will be fixed in the next patch.
Gfx are impressive, FOX engine is great, sound is good. So, it's far from a disaster.

I dont have auto faint on, the ai rarely slide tackles it shouldnt have anything to do with the way i dribble...football has fouls all the time on and off the ball..how about shirt pulls their are none..regarding manual shooting on 4 separate occasions now i have had an open net 6-8 yards out with the ball coming towards my striker..i press shoot and nothing..weather i time it right or not if i give a command the player should stick a foot out..im not bothered if it goes off target but it enrages me when nothing at all happens

This game is really overwhelming to me having been away from PES for a good 3-4 years. Disappointed about the graphics. hopefully will be fixed by modders. I have no fucking clue how to dribble with or without auto feint. Couldnt do shit in the tutorial. Now that ive tried it myself Id say there really is a problem with passing. Cant do 1 touch passes that even I can do real life. Im very skeptical of this changing. The game is pushing me away, but I really do want to like it so Ill try some more when I have time. Noticed in 1 tutorial that I couldnt head crosses and the player always used his foot. Is the same problem in real games too?

In every game cpu gets at least 2 yellow cards from sliding tackles. You're doing something wrong. Learn the driblling.

Been away from any PES or FIFA for many years now. Installed PES 2014, wtf is wrong with the picture? It's all desaturated and too right. There is no colour or contrast at all, any more desaturating and it will be in black and white :/
I also have the can't download any data pack problem too.

if the stats of that "player" was in allowance for being a striker, then it dont matter what his name is, there are no connections with real people its just puter data he could of been called assholemcfannyballkicker.. would make no difference, only difference is in ur perception of playing a "game" with star status overpaid celebs on ur screen and gushing about it on a forum |

Guess your right FearWhat, just noticed the Vsync option is gone in settings.
anyway for me the game is smooth aswell, high 1920x1080 never lags/stutters during gameplay and no input lag to be found.
Played a few matches find the new shooting system (advanced) strange aswell, seems more like a assisted shooting mode to me.
Shots will never/hardly go over no matter how I aim, even with a full bar, shots go too much on target freaking aimbot or something.
I'll stick with basic aint changing the winning formula.
Can't really get used to the new through pass yet either, gotta try some more to see if its worth playing with.
Defending is a major improvement, can now properly intercept/block a pass, RS feature nice aswell works better then RT push, In PES13 you sometimes make a sliding tackle for no reason when trying this very frustrating that was.
Also found out when defending its possible to apply pressure with multiple AI, loving that!
going to fire-up Master League right now to experience the real deal.

About 10 more games played and I'm not getting better at it. Seems like the same crap as FIFA but in different ways.
Players can't turn sharply at all (one thing is weight and inertia and another is being apparently crippled). Confusing as fuck dribbling, couldn't make a single feint even during training (apart from a rainbow flick - double click right stick). Shitty corners and goal kicks. Weak penalties. Standing tackles are worse than in FIFA. An hour long replays of goals. Defenders roaming wherever they want (in my last game Dante was always hanging out near the center circle). Horribly slow default movement speed and what's even more annoying is that its inconsistent. You jog normally, then turn 5 degrees to the left and suddenly your player is moving with the speed of a snail allowing the defender to overtake you.
Also had an AI player ignore the ball after his penalty rebound, though overall ai is way ahead of fifa's.
Man I wish some new football series appeared, both fifa and pes are so bad it's not even funny.

There's a definite input delay or lag despite people trying to write it off as a feature. Makes passing a hassle especially if you want to make a few quick passes in tight spaces.

are through balls by default ultra powerful? cant get a low power through pass at all.

You people sure you're playing with everything on manual? The assisted crap seems to be somewhat broken from people's comments. On manual I've performed all kinds of through balls without problem. But this game requires lots of practice. If you want to be owning out of the box it's better to stay with FIFA, way less unknowns to worry about. Game is definitely not for casual players.

i have through ball on advanced. I wish there was a better guide to dribbling. Ive gathered most of the basics, but need to practise some more. How do you use your head to hit the ball? The players always trap the ball before hitting with feet when its at head height.

- Dribbling: Turn off auto feint if you want to use the RS. If on you only use LS to dribble and feints are automatically choosed. When off gives more freedom and dribble variation but it's also harder to master. Again flick the LS and RS inches/a second before you reach 1-on-1 with the defender.
- Defending: Use X+LS towards goal to contain and RS to tackle. Do not switch players all the time. Cover space and try not to man mark every time.
The game is wonderful, is meant to be played at -1 speed, 20mins. It has some flaws like the LB+pass -> LB+triangle exploit when using top teams against weaker opponents. Overall is a good offline experience, the cpu does not cheat with constant through balls and it is close to what we see on TV with sudden pace changes, messy passes and decisions which lead to a more chaotic game on the pitch and,on top of that,it is tacticaly accurate, meaning that smart play and tactical knowledge can give you the advantage over AI or human opponents. |
