I tried the PSN version, and I didn't notice any difference with the game disc on internal (didn't try external though).

The initial loading is still very slow also.

That's weird, external + internal fixed the popins for the intro. For the rest of the game I can't say for sure as outside of the intro I have not noticed much popins (with the exception of a fire hidrant/bench poping in here and there when driving fast).

Also, I think those screens are mixed up or they're running the x360 version off some DVD/shitty usb/external as textures/LOD are not like that. Laughing

I does like those screens are from some cinematic, and I do remember that cinematic jumps around that farm area, so maybe the texture quality is from the popin issue?

Yeah, I do not think it looks like that for me from what I've seen so far. As a matter of fact, I have many times reacted on how detailed (well for console anyway) some textures are. I would have reacted if I saw something like the screen shots posted there... Not saying there aren't problems, but I doubt it looks like that for me. Will check when I get back home - where is that building located on the map? Barn etc..

It looks like AF is broken on the X360 version. This should be fixable with a simple patch, if Rockstar bothers. But if they don't fix it, it will give players more incentive to buy the next-gen version Laughing

I only have a PS3 so to me the choice was obvious but if i had both a 360 and PS3 id probably go with the 360 version

AF problems >>>>> FPS problems

AF should be easier to fix than FPS

Like I said, it might be a pop in issue due to shitty usb/ext HDD, that's if they are not running it from a DVD.
Like grapper said, the texture quality is one of the things that impressed me as well when I first started this, and the ones in those screens are not what I would call impressive.

There's a PS3 walkthrough on gamefront, and the frames + LOD/popins are pretty bad compared to what I'm used to from the x360 version. So I don't know what DF is doing with that x360 version, but it does not seem to mirror my (and from what I've read, others as well) experience of the x360 version. Wink

It's one of Trevors mission, the one with the O'Neill brothers.

All requests approved Smile As for playing online? Nah, not with my hacked PS3. For one, I'm not entirely sure online would work - I've got a corrupt profile that won't let me sync trophies or anything, I can access the store and I can sign in on RSSC and I could cloud-save my games in both Rainbow Moon and Dragon's Crown, but I couldn't access any other online features in Dragon's Crown, I'd get the same error code as when trying to sync trophies -- and secondly, I don't want the machine or my profile banned, heh.

No, they didn't. Improving performance requires a lot of work. It's not a single bug that you need to trace down and fix, it requires a lot of changes in different places of the code and assets.

The AF problem on the other hand looks fixable with a patch, but I doubt Rockstar will care. Maybe for "Episodes of Los Santos"...

Don't care about eurogamer's fps counter, look with your own eyes at their driving gameplay comparison video. When driving at any decent speed it lurches on ps3 visibly, like it's skipping frames.

I'm playing through on ps3 while my brother is playing on 360 and noticed this straight away.

I miss the gym / workout system that San Andreas had. It was really fun to make CJ look ripped like hell.

They should get a proper eating / workout system in the next game (bulking diet and some raw workout schedule Very Happy). And it would be also fun to work out online with your buddies and make bench press contests and stuff Laughing
