15 months of PSN+ and each month gives you half a dozen free games too. Honestly, for non-pirates PSN+ is a no-brainer. Sure it's a "rental" service and you lose access to the games if you don't pay your sub, but meh.. with the PS4 requiring PSN+ in order to play online, I don't see many people failing to keep the sub payments up.

Question is if they're going to keep offering game then as well.

Surprisingly yes, not only for existing PS3/PSV customers but you get a slightly cut down version of DriveClub for free with PSN+

Don't get me wrong, I hope not. But you have to remember their just another company, much like microsoft. The only reason they went with free games for PSN+ users was because they couldn't sell online play. Not without taking it out from the free services and putting it behind a paywall, a move witch would have pissed everyone off.
I mean 2-3 years from now, I don't see why sony wouldn't just pull the plug on that since the get people to subscribe with online play same as xbl.

They aren't a company like Microsoft I'd say. Think the cultural difference alone makes them not alike. They just happen to be in the same business. Never say never but I would be very surprised if Sony would show such behaviour. While the whole Xbox One debacle did not come as a surprise to me, because of their past with the Xbox.

Sony surely didn't give a good impression with the PS3.
PS+ was a fail at first IMHO, and only good ever since they gave away the free games (which is only recent, maybe because the PS3 is a dying console ?).
PS3 had shitty ports for years, and the exclusives weren't that amazing. In 2010 finally they pulled their head out of their asses, and got the God of War, Uncharted 1/2, Heavy Rain, Infamous, Resistance and Ratchet & Clank games. (and then came the PSJailbreak, which was a blessing for its enjoyment).
They did have a free online play though, which was nice of them, although really buggy at first.
I agree with cobALT though, they only do this for the money, and it's possible that Sony will be less generous with the PS+ on PS4. As much as I'm happy we get a free lite version of Driveclub, they still won't give us the full version.... Seems like they toned down PS+ a bit ?
Hopefully they dont do this too much often giving stuff between demo and full versions ?
Now, I hope I'm wrong, see the Vita for example, PS+ on it is amazing for pirates. Most (all ?) of the good games are/were free on it. Yet maybe because the Vita is dying.... Maybe Sony will wait a little to give as much free games on PS4 ?
Let's hope I'm wrong, but I'm sure it will be quite complicated for Sony to get us free contents from publishers, after all, even though we are renting games, it's still an amazing deal, and the publishers needs to earn money too from Sony/PS+.
They are playing the good cop thing with the PS4, but i'm skeptical. I think they only want money, like Microsoft, they are a company that do the stuff they do not for our enjoyment, but for money first. People tend to forget that.

Oh come on... Microsoft is a typical American company. A company that is global doesn't lose their entire background and you can easily spot the differences. I bet other people who worked for a few different global companies can attest to that.
Of course every company goes for profit, it's so common sense that I find it weird people always have to state that. But to say it's all profit and a company doesn't have it's own style largely due to the people running it and the companies cultural heritage I find that very strange to claim.
Just look at the Xbox's, they always have primarily been designed for the American market. Which is fine, it's their choice. I just don't think it is a sound business strategy for the global market. But time always tells: gamers forget easily so the loss will be minimal over the entire life span of a console.
I just think it's going too far to think that measures by a company like MS will ensure a company like Sony is just the same. It be like saying: well EA did this so Valve will do that.
So no the point wasn't too defend Sony, I just find the reasoning quite off with people predicting they will go anti consumer. It can happen, just that it's not likely with their past.
Ah well, time will tell.

Every company operates by typical american companies standards/policies. Sony might have it's roots in JAP but at this point they're more american than you assume. Just like every other big company/corp out there.
Since the x360, Sony has been trying so hard to be like Microsoft that it makes this scenario look like all those Android phone makers trying desperately to be like Apple but bashing it at the same time.
Xbox focuses heavily on the US/NA because they are big there. Like you said, their not as big in EU or JAP. Also it's easier to work in you region with devs from your region. Sony and Nintendo used to be the same way, they were bigger in JAP so they focused more on that market until they grew in the other markets and expanded.
I mean, with the PS4, for the first time in their history Sony is dropping JAP in favor of US primeraly and EU to follow. If you care about that then at least Microsoft are dedicated to go for both at the same time with the xbone. How's that for americanised vs non-americanised style?
But I don't blame them, business wise it makes sens, the NA market place is the place to be for every company/corp, EU is a fragmented market and not as big as NA/JAP.
I'm not defending Microsoft or attacking Sony, I just don't get why people are always demonizing Microsoft, but got so easily carried away by Sony's "good guy" prestation in the last months, since clearly it's all a marketing facade to get the higher ground. It reeks of fanboy-ism, people should give credit where credit it due.
Microsoft may have screwed the pooch over the last 3 years with their xbox fan service and even more so this year with the Xbone announcement but they have "done good by gamers" in the past, when Sony did not because they were all high on hubris dust. However the top notch first party support and the fact that they got their head out of the asses is a step in the right direction on Sony's part, for sure.
Regarding the PSN+ stuff, of course, only time will tell. That was my point as well, that (based on their background as a company) they might do that, and not that they will do that.
Didn't PSN started having adds like XBL? Weren't they bragging, a few years ago at some E3 or something, about their service being add free?
And that's why I think it might be wrong for people to put Sony on a pedestal and blindly trust them to "do the right thing by gamers".
Btw, not sure if this was asked before in the forum, but if you get PSN+ starting next month would you have access to the games made available for PSN+ users up until then or would you start from scratch?
