Euphoria is very much in effect and the animations are as incredible as they were in MP3, much improved over GTA4 (IMO...) but car damage is drastically reduced. I tell you something though; the PC version of this is going to blow people's fucking minds. Even if they put out another broken-ass port capable of 30-40fps, the addition of anti-aliasing and running at 1080 will be phenomenal. |

Well I don't know what cars you've been driving that are different to mine, but mine can be smashed all over the place like pinballs and barely take as much as a dent to the bumpers. The damage is cumulative so, after a long-ass time of smashing into everything at high speeds, your bumper will finally look like it's hanging off and the bonnet/sideskirts will be crumpled. Compared to GTA4, it's very much dialled back in my experience so far.

Just buy a derpbox/DS3 for this game alone, that's what you should do!

You clearly don't know how games are done. They don't start with crappy textures. Artists create them in higher resolutions and from that they create smaller ones for specific consoles, game settings etc. Better textures is just a matter of changing one option in their authoring tools. |
Not really, often the artists works within the resolution that is supposed to work best for the game, and they do their tweaks and stuff to these textures instead of going back and forth to the hi-res original (if there is a hi-res version). It saves time, and time is often something they don't have. There's also the issue with mip-maps, sucks to go back to do those again if you edited them manually in the lower res version and then you need to do the same with the hi-res versions. Not saying there's never a hi-res version to revert to, but not always. It's also not really optimal to mix low-res and hi-res textures, from an artistic standpoint it might look better if a low-res texture is close to another low-res texture intead of a hi-res version (which will make the lower-res texture look even worse).

They have the original asset for sure, but it might not have all the changes that were done to the "final" lower-res version. So it might not be as easy to just use the original hi-res version because they'd also need to do all the tweaks and sometimes adjustments to mipmaps.
