I tried the demo earlier this morning, and surprisingly loved it. Surprised

Even if it looks like FIFA 13, it plays very differently, there's a better pace (much slower if compared to the videos), the new animations make the gameplay more 'human' since it's easier to lose the ball, shooting seems harder on manual, long passes' physics are more natural and even the AI seems slightly less "robot-like" (even though far from perfect). Not bad at all.

I like the fact, as Ixi mentions, that the AI seems less robot-ish. Makes them more human and when I played against them they made some errors you usually wouldn't see in FIFA.

Very Happy Well most of my rants here are either because of the fact that we got the peasant version instead of the "nextgen" one for the usual unknown (BS) reasons, or because of the actual state of the MP community, which is a disaster. Friends fix everything though. Razz

Oh no you misunderstand, it was not based on you, but on these last couple of pages, "sometimes" this hump gets in a negative overdrive Smile

Its not really about being positive or negative or about anyone's preferences, the demo is unfinished and at its current state quite broken so I can see why people are having problems with it.

Looking at this video who is supposed to be a much newer version you can see that they are quite different and much like Fifa 13.

what? fifa demos were always the same as the final (except that the demos never had the "momentum"). game will be exactly like the demo you play right now!

Improvements:
- Tighter cpu defense.
- Momentum is noticeable.
- Ball seems more free.
- Finally cpu fouls here and there.

Flaws:
- Psychic cpu is still there.
- Teammate cpu AI is again non-existent. Defenders stand there just watching cpu players pass by. Teammate attacking runs are hopeless/without specific plan.
- Cpu build-up play is still a joke. This is not football. Cpu keeps attacking vertical all the time, never backpasses and there is no midfield action at all.
- Cpu never changes its tactics. (Still need to test the full game for this because this is a demo)

EA must rename this one to Fifa Online. Offline mode is unplayable at this state. I understand that the Fifa series target the casual gamers but in 2013 is unacceptable to implement this kind of bad cpu AI. This game is perfect for 2vs2 online, 5vs5 online and so on, but for offline only players is just a mediocre game.

me, since online gameplay has been shit in last year games and everyone just uses assists. If it stays at least the same as it is now in the demo or even improves, then Id buy the game and play online if it wasnt for the old engine. I find it insulting thus I refuse to pay EA.

You won't get any arguments from me. Razz All very good points and I agree. The CPU received several improvements if compared to FIFA 13 vanilla, but it's definitely not enough.

After 10 offline matches I've already spotted 5-6 recursive patterns that make the AI highly predictable, and that's really not a good thing if someone intends to spend months on the SP Season. That was on Professional/WC. Legendary on the other hand is..well something along the lines of "hah, I'm CPU the magician, I just turned my Nocerino and Constant into CR7 and Bale. Deal with it!". Laughing Very Happy

Really Ixi? I can't get pass the defenders anymore. Not with skilled dribbling (lt + rt), skill moves or even precise dribbling ( lb). Only way i can get close to the oponents goal is by making combinations and playing through balls (which are intercepted most of the times). The cpu on the other hand is dribbling through my defense and evading my sliding/standing tackles like im not even there Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Yeah you need to use completely different tactics if compared to 13, quick turns and insta-sprinting to dribble the opponents for example without using special moves are more effective than before, even with relatively slow players. It's all about timing and luck though (since the ball has many new random behaviours that can be unpredictable). This kinda surprised me, didn't expect to re-learn how to play.

And you're definitely right, the CPU cheats at times when keeping the ball, especially on Legendary where they have it practically glued to their feet. Razz

Tried the demo for a few games with the extender. I'll definitely try the isodemo first as this is not in a state that I would want to pay for it. You play with teams representing the highest level of skill and yet it feels like fucking tanks turning around on the field. Turning is slow and stuttering as hell. I can understand that being the case with the shitty players but with Messi, Neymar, Reus and co you should be able to feel it that you're controlling one of the best players in the world. The psychic abilities of the cpu controlled opponents has already been mentioned and the slight delay in turning added to it is making defending a complete chaos.

Didn't play the last years edition so can't compare but this doesn't feel that much better compared to Fifa 12 that paying 40-50 euros for it is not worth it.

But if EA is really taking notes of what people say about the demo this may well be fixed and Fifa 14 will be a great game.

Goddamn it, I have bought a PS3 in November because of NHL series, which has a "good" price (at least for a PS3 game...) as it is "only" 40 euros. But here's the deal: FIFA series is AT LEAST twice as expensive for PS3 than PC version. My PC is too shitty to handle full-hd graphics and I want to play it on my 42" Television, so the only solution is to buy FIFA 14 for 50 euros instead of 20 Sad

And no, I won't hack my PS3 since I really enjoy online features of NHL & FIFA. Probably I'll have to wait until Xmas (I'm not big fan of FIFA... probably getting GTA V instead in this month).

The pont is: I wish there was a place where you could get PS3 games cheaper (like for PC the nuuvem shop...)
