 Good to hear.

is day/night cycle similar to iv in how long a day is? does the he map seem big enough after the concerns expressed when it was leaked?

All the .RPFs are 2.4GB or smaller, so you can play this from external if you want -- though it being powered by RAGE, which isn't exactly the most awesome engine for texture streaming, I'd play it from the faster internal just to be safe.

There doesn't appear to be any other signed files, just the standard Rockstar RPF archives and EBOOT.bin - though it appears DUPLEX have modified the EBOOT. I'm not sure why yet.

Doh! Cracktro, of course. Thanks cyclone!

Audio_misc.rpf is 3.7GB, but still, not 4, so its still cool. I'm uploading it to my PS3 now. Longest wait of my life.

I feel your pain, PS3s need gigabit ethernet.
 Just 5 minutes to go....

Try putting Disk1 on internal HDD if you have one, that's what fix all my problems.

This. Expecting a big jump compared to GTA IV is silly. It's still the same console so resolution and AA can not get much better.

Have you lost your mind over the hype in the last days?

I'm serious: I know the technical limits of the Xbox 360, but after the trailers i expected it much better looking than GTA 4, which is not the case.
Missing antialiasing really hurts , but maybe it will released on next gen.
Framerate could be better? not sure...
 |

You. . .must not remember what 2008 looked like.
 |
Maybe i forgot. Is it really that better looking? In the end its gameplay anyway; didnt play very much yet.

Yeah, I agree there are some low res textures/few pop-ins here and there but it mostly an obscure wall/street, for the most the game looks stellar. They did all they could with 512 MB shared RAM.

The only problem I had was at the intro when Michael walks out of the therapist's cabinet and walks around the street; there was some nasty popin going around, but it went away after that.
Been playing for 5hrs and even on high speed chases, there's a lot of detail, a lot of taffic and I haven't noticed any popin.

The lighting/shadows/reflections are way above anything in GTAIV, and even most current gen open world games.

Srsly, try GTA IV and then V. The difference is miles away.

					| Just a heads up, but after the mandatory install of disc 1, you can then install disc 2 through the dash.
See, I missed this because it throws you right into the game after the install
