I had lots of lockups during playing and I solved it by disabling music and EAX in sound options. Now it works perfectly.

for those with the sound glitching and game locking up, try disabling directsound acceleration in dxdiag. for me, turning eax didnt help but turning dsound accel to 'basic' or off fixed it. had to do this to run the aoe3 demo as well. seems the audigy 2 does play well with some of these new games...

Does anyone know any cheats or trainers for this game? My savegame got fucked up in the seconds lizard mission and I don't want to spend another 4 hours playing it just to find out it will crash at the end of the mission again.

Have u all got monster machines running this game? I know my laptop is getting a bit old but wtf?? Atleast its a 3ghz p4 HT with 1 gig memory.. As always the gfx card is the bottleneck on laptops ATI 9600 mobility on mine. I cant see any big difference between setting all effects off running with lowest resolution and all effects on with max resolution.
When i got to the third level on the order of the flame campaign it stopped being playable as soon as i built up an army.. the lag is killing me.. running at like 5-10 fps.
I can still play other new games like battlefield 2 etc if i disable the most demanding effects so im just wondering if this is due to the protection or if it just aint playable on my machine?
Would be nice if someone posted their specs and fps..

Try chaning the cue file, or whatever the file that comes with img. It seems that the name of the file is incorrect in the cue file.

I have played this game for 2 days now - its fun and entertaining. Basically its a mix of Warcraft 3 and SpellForce gameplay elements. its not really a "strategy"-game, you have much (RPG)-"action"(attack and retreat) and with army rush you are finally always successful. the only decision you have to make is which units are best working against certain opponents, but a mix of ranged/melee/flying units is always working. the RPG part is basically dungeon crawling to find some items, to gain gold and to accomplish side quests with your "hero" (but you can NOT gain levels or experience, only items...). no economy or micromanagement (equip inventory, skills) required. its very easy to learn and especially suitable for RTS/RPG beginners. for hardcore RTS gamers playing "Earth 2160" or "Rome - Total War" its far too simple, I think.
Graphics are OK, but not especially great (compared to SpellForce). Really excellent is the music! - sounds as if you were in a great fantasy movie.
With the patch it runs very stable, no crashes or bugs so far (win2000, 1 gig ram, 6800 gt). difficulty grade is easy to medium in my opinion (now starting map 5 of the good side campaign), SpellForce is much more difficult. the weak side: it seems to be rather short...
