not really an AI issue in that case. But the stupid design decision of flag in a open field battle. It's just a dumb design.

The issue is with the AI, the AI can't deal with flag capture mechanics. I like it though, most video I've have seen since release has been hilarious Very Happy

Why doesn't the AI protect the flag ?

Why does it hunt the archers with units that will never catch them ?

New beta patch out. Doubt it actually fixes anything but you never know. CA was kind enough to not provide a changelog.

http://forums.totalwar.com/showthread.php/88210-Patch-1.5-in-BETA-Today?s=bb45815631d9739357fbc2fe430b3710

EDIT: Basically as I see it the earlier update was 1.0, this is 1.5 and next will be 2.0 as Update #2 ?

EDIT: Oh and yeah Steam downloads the updated data and patches the existing archives thus why it appears to "stall" at certain percentages since the data archives it updates are fairly large. Smile

"Patch 1.5 Contains one fix - Campaign map stuttering"

They managed to fix ONE single thing in a week? Wow, they are good.

Well that's one of the main reported problems in their official forums, and it's obvious they're gonna focus on performance issues before gameplay. It's the right decision, IMO Smile

You are correct, but my concern is that if it took them a week to fix this single problem then the game must have so many problems deep down that it is almost hopeless.

Well, it didn't take them a week after the first patch which supposedly came on friday (4 days). I say it's a good pace.

i'd love just to be able to finish a campaign, period.

just for the fun of it, anyone wanna try to use my savegame and see if it crashes as well ? Possibly someone with the legit version. Wondering if it's the game or the crack.

Playing cartaghe on legendary. My Capital is getting attacked over and over. Only garrison inside.

Enemy doesn't besieges the city, no, assault right away.

Destroys 1(1!) gate with flaming flings (!) and then tries to rush through with all its troops (slingers first) in order to get to the flag.

I have a couple hoplites behind the gate in phalanx .. it's like tower wars. I kill 3000, they 300...

Yay.

I'm considering letting all siege battles, attack or defense, be auto resolved. It's just not fun to win this way. I mean, what is the freaking point.

not to mention those damn troops landing in a zone where they have no access to the open gate, so the AI goes berserk, burning in my cpu and make the game run at 1 fps ... well 1/2 fps more.
