yeah it'll work with the payload tool cos that burns the whole disc...its installing a truncated image that is the issue.

Most likely it will just be a big CONTENT folder, like a DLC, that copies to the HDD, and I'm not sure truncating prevents this from happening.
Worst case scenario, just copy the CONTENT folder from disc2 to a usb stick or to your X360 hdd directly, that should work too.

That's why. Had you tried to install, it would fail and error towards the end and since GTAV has a mandatory install, you're screwed without it. Truncating simply won't work so you'll have to burn the disc correctly using an iHas (or compatible) drive. |

Hmm, I believe Halo4 had the first disk as mandatory with the 2nd for play. I'm almost certain GTAV will have the same, there was a source to an interview that mentioned it specifically but I have no idea where that is. We might have a few disappointed people here because of it

100% sure, i install all my 360 games because the cutscenes in all games stutter around unbearably when read straight from disc.
the last game i installed truncated was gow judgement around 6 months ago.
i cant even remember it failing once during install, in my case most games failed at different percentages in successive retries but i can remember ff13-2 and mgs hd collection getting stuck at the same percentage every time (ca. 40%). it took me atleast 5 times for each of these 2 games but they ended up installing fully.
lt2 here btw.

its not a workaround for the mp3 ghetto trick though, i still need to do that to evade the disc auth error.

Friend of mine has xkey too. If I had the money, I would pefer getting a xKey than letting my X360 RGH. But on the other side, I like to mess with technical things.
Like this, had Android for couple years, now changed to iOS. I always played with android. Compiling own modules, rooting, creating own custom roms etc etc. But now that I changed to iOS, I miss alot of those things, not that I need it, iOS runs great! Just the limitations without jailbreak, meeh..
Would prefer xkey though, since I know spending alot of time figuring things out on RGH (custom apps etc) haha  Don't got that much time.

That's because no other game so far has HAD a mandatory install, mate, not that I know of anyhow. In fact... The_Zeel is the only guy I know that has successfully installed a truncated burn, every other place I look has the same; they either crap out mid way, crap out at the end, or "succeed" but don't actually work.

as far as i know with lt3 you cant install truncated games, thats why i only flashed up to lt2 because i did not plan to get an ihas burner at the time.

Totally agree with you. I would personally prefer RGH. I like messing and customizing things. That said, RGH is quite expensive when done in Sweden and I would have to send mine to a store. I would RGH my console if I got the time. That said, xkey has been working fine for me. Never had to reopen the case after initial install, just transfer game to HDD and boot.

Oh shit i never thought of that... Still using LT 2.0 and a normal samsung burner. Always truncated and had no problems when the game was not installed.

I installed the HD textures of SC Blacklist which is located on the 2nd disk. It worked fine but it was only 2 GB. I guess you can't compare that to GTA V because the whole 2nd disk has to be installed right?
