OFF has (probably) the best dynamic campaign in ANY air sim which is probably why it has a loyal fan base.

There's no reason for anyone who likes WW1 air sims not to have RoF and OFF.
The upcoming OFF Phase 4 also looks excellent

Channels Battles Edition is available, there's a pretty hefty DLC cost though for those interested in that additional content.

And they won't give already existing customers a steam key. Evil or Very Mad
That is not how you treat your fellow supporter damit! Sad

There is no excuses for this, every other dev even indie gave a Steam key to their customers.
And if there is actually a technical issue about this, steam coupon is a solution ...

Anyway, the base game on Steam is quite a nice package already.
Of course you better wait for a -75% sale to collect the DLCs Smile

Also, this is the best WWI Flight sim ever made.
It is damn hard, but so much satisfying when you make it back alive from a mission Wink

Rise of Flight United becomes "FREE"

1) I bought ROF: CBE edition some time ago, and now ROF is free. Did I waste my money?

- Of course, not. None of your investments were lost. Channel Battles Edition was transformed into a DLC pack with the very same name. And it is in your library already.

2) What does ROF United contain?

- The free edition provides almost a full range of gameplay opportunities for a virtual pilot. The limits are only applied to the plane models which can always be purchased separately as DLCs. These planes are SPAD 13, Albatros D.Va and Nieuport 17 (Russian version). Find the full list of free content here:

That was unexpected

You need to buy plane packs to even play a scenario or a mission? Is that true?

It seems the steam version is now the same as the old demo version.

You should have 3 fighters at least which each got freeflight/mission coming along.
You should also be able to start a dynamic campaign.

Just wait Steam sales to pick some packs if you really want more choices and full length campaign available.

I put some several $ € and even £ in this game, and still don't regret it.
Simply the best (only ?) WWI combat flight sim available.

Did they end up giving out steam keys for the non steam versions?

I bought the dvd version directly from Russia before it was available here in the UK.

I have also put many £ into this with zero regrets. To be fair it's been a long time since i installed this, other things are taking my time up lately. Mainly KSP and my man crush with Scott Manley Very Happy
