Default Extreme with 16xAF @ 1440p

Everything maxed out seems to eat about 8fps (Vegetation alpha and Depth Of Field). Anyway could run better, but its very playable in this kind of game, also looks fantastic for a RTS. Tried only custom battle fast, will start campaign now :>

My celtic empire is slowly getting bigger. Liking it so far, though that hideous UI still bugs me. Also, I have one strange income. In the list it just says Other: 2000 and I have no idea where those 2k come from...

Perhaps the graphical/optimization issues are mostly related to Nvidia cards. I am using an older Radeon 5850 and playing it on the Extreme level with pretty good FPS. Also turns are not taking 1+ minutes like others say but only about 30 seconds tops. This might get longer as the game goes on though, I am not sure. Still...not nearly as bad as what I was afraid it would be. It is definitely playable for me.

type "computer management" in start search. Go to disk management.
See if the drive is still there. Maybe its hidden.

It has happened to me once, when unwanted visitors browsed certain sites, so maybe the case is a little bit similar.

if still there assign driver letter/path and its should work.

i don't think it happened to him here, but to the idiot who made the post on steam forum, saying he installed a pirated version of the game. And empty disk usually just means its boot sector got erased, probably by a virus.

I have to say I agree. Installing rld's version now Razz

I fucking knew it, who where the people saying it wouldn't be a cluster fuck with AI and grafix? I have no sympathy and I laugh hartily as well. Some people Never learn. Keep drinking their bullshit down guys, tastes good no? I and many others learned their lessons with these fags, never to touch any game they release at launch for full price. When it's 20 bux, sure. No, not now

http://steamcommunity.com/app/214950/discussions/0

Great reading. Jesus the people that buy this,

What's even funnier is all the people that tell others yeah we know the game is shit, graphically and it runs like shit and the AI is shit. All of them say just wait for the patch to nfix it all and it will be playable... Awesome advice, pre order or day one purchase, but don't expect to play it for a few months or more.

Yeah I have to agree. I've been burned way too many times to buy most games at launch. Publishers push the devs to meet deadlines and these days games are never completed before release. The sad thing is people will still throw money at them so they have no incentive to release games the way they used to be - complete.

A strategic map without strategy...

I agree with this point completely. There's very little buildings to choose from and they dont do much. Even in Shogun 2 in its simplistic form had somewhat of a strategy.

Basically towards the end of the campaign you do nothing, but move your 3-4 armies around and wait for 2-5 min till its your turn again.

And that is the hardest blow, since they can fix graphical and performance problems with patches, but it still does not fix the lack of depth overall.

Yay, co-op campaign is broken once again. De-syncs ftw! And I don't think it will ever get fixed since they never fixed it in Shogun2 either.

I haven't tried it yet

Dafuq i just read Shocked
IMO its typical state of Total War game at launch since Medieval 2
-game have some problems , but its still mils better than most of games production nowadays even in day1. version - people are just too dramatic.
IIRC - Shogun 2 and Empire were both in much worse state at launch

Well, been playing for a while. Mixed thoughts. Generally good. My two year old 485 GTX mobile handles everything with aplomb at 1920 Ultra settings. Slight slow down on some very intense detail scenes but very playable for day one.

Not finding masses of problems, some odd AI behavior certainly, auto battles as some have mentioned aren't always predictable, and I've seen ranks of soldiers suddenly jump forward in an odd way.

My main uncertainty is the sheer level of dense detail in terrain and so on. There is almost too much to take in making real time battles distracting. The campaign map can get very busy, keeping tabs on every thing seems more of a chore than previous games. Maybe I've just got so used to the simpler look of the earlier games. Less detail although not as compelling is easier on the eye. Maybe I'm just turning into an old fart who knows. The color palate is quite muted also. Maybe this is also a problem everything can look like it's merging together with not enough separation.

After playing a while, its a typical Total War game. The strategy is still there, TW style, but a bit different. You need to chose what to build and then follow a specific tree, so you can't build everything in a city. So i'd say there's the same depth as previous games.

My 2 main issues are the insane amount of time when ending a turn... I'm just at the beginning, how will this look towards the end!? The other is the washed colors... Everything kinda looks strange...
