The game can certainly be demanding, sure the benchmark is a pretty extreme example but whoa at the low "score" I got, I'm uploading some images. Smile

Here's the screens from the benchmark test, this is a bit exaggerated as I set everything to it's highest minus in-game AA (SMAA is used instead.) but it shows that the game is still pretty hardware demanding if you try to max it out. Smile

Doesn't look too bad either for a strategy game. Smile

EDIT: Oh and there's certainly enough options to customize the visuals to scale the game to "older" hardware even though I'm not going to since I'm a bit crazy and prefer visual quality to performance, but it should be quite scalable due to this and you don't have to set everything to max, it's just more fun to do so. Very Happy

EDIT: And yeah I don't think there's a proper driver profile either, haven't checked though.

On extreme settings with a gtx 770 and 3570k @ 4.4 ghz I am only getting 25-50 fps in the first prologue map, and as low as 15 fps when zooming in on battles. Performance doesn't improve much unless I put everything on the lowest with shader model 3.0.

Yes the preload updated yesterday and as such it should be included. Smile

EDIT: I opted-in on the Day1 beta they forgot to block, might be a even newer version.

I've got tons of LOD/texture pop-in/swap problems. I hope it's not driver related because my GFX card doesn't like the newest one. At least in the Benchmark that is.

Anyone manage to get SLI working without massive ground flickering? I tried setting it to the Shogun 2 values via Inspector, but that's a no-go.

SLI worthlessness strikes yet again.

No idea . Depends on RELOADED. But as i said its doubtful they will bother to crack the patches. And TW without patches is suicide IMO.

It's nearly done validating the day1 beta update that's currently accessible (no idea what Ceg_test is, the other available beta option.), will try the benchmark again and see if there's a difference, at best it's the same and this is the same version that got released, at worst there's a second update planned for "soon" or some such.

EDIT: Oh and the update is a 87 MB download but it affects 10.8 GB of data from what I checked when it downloaded so I doubt I can upload the files somewhere. Smile
(xDelta should be useful for patches to this game, Scene updates will be pretty big in comparison if this is any indication.)

Made the mistake of SLI twice, once with Nvidia and one time with ATI, 4 our of 5 times it was completely worthless..

With a Titan, is it like SLI? Same problems to deal with? Anyone have experience with it?

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Textures/LoD is definitely broken. It's not a driver issue. I hope that patch will fix it.

So.. I gave it a go just for several minutes, it was late...Did my eyes deceive me or the game looks kinda bad? Worse than shogun 2.Texture wise and whatnot. There is something wrong I think. It looked better on videos.

PS benchmark results on 3770k, 16Gb ram, titan (adaptive mode, performance mode seems to be generally a bit faster) win 7 64 : average fps on extreme profile is 48+
Nothing is overclocked.

Just wondering - does anyone know how battle maps are handled? Are they procedurally generated based on the strategy map geography, as in earlier games, or are they all modeled by hand now? Some of the maps just look too detailed for procedural generation in rome 2...

GTX titan is a single GPU and you can get +5fps compared to GTX 780 Laughing (not o/c'ed)

I get solid 40 fps. Oh and the particles seem to be the biggest resource hog. (Fog, dust, smoke etc)

I just tried to set it to what I'm running Shogun2 on and it works. Looks decent, runs decent (even on the world map). Just like they said it would.

Except for the kinda wonky LoD.
