"Call of Duty 2 lets players experience four individual soldier stories as they overcome insurmountable odds in multiple campaigns. Players have the freedom to follow each of the four storylines through for the ultimate character-driven experience, or they can engage in the historic battles chronologically for quick hitting action. Activision will released a 656 mb demo, El Daba, Egypt mission, at 3pm PST. We have it already, and in 1 hour so will you ..."

The demo was decent. It's basicly cod1 with better graphics, so people that liked cod1 will love this.

Btw, graphics are far better than dod:source. But still not that awesome.

Pretty nice graphics, the smoke looks really good. The faces are done decently Smile
Still fun to play, just like cod1 was, sometimes you just get attacked and shoot around in panic, but when you have cover, you know exactly what you're doing Smile

Screw you guys. I'm going home.

Wow that demo was impressive, surprised me in that when I took a look at the screenshots for the game I thought it was gonna be a title that my pc had problems with but it runs smoothly on max settings and looks great.

I enjoyed the stuff that your soldiers say as there assaulting the germans just so immersive, one scottish soldier could be heard to shout "come on, square go, come on" and I heard another soldier calling the germans "wankers" before mounting a charge on a gun emplacement.

I think this'll be a buyer for me just brings back memories of the good old days when CoD was originally released and still fealt fresh. Smile

I dunno how u guys can play demo's....i mean, it just makes me wanna play the whole game that much more ya know? Some ppl may like that feeling, but when i sit down to run some videogames, I like to know that there's a beginning and an end so to speak...demo's are just teaser and for me...they work to well Laughing thats why i tend to stay away from em...

Even screen shots...I was checkin out the B&W2 thread...before today, i wanted to play it, seems like a good interesting game...but now, im checkin the main page every 10 fuckin minutes hoping the game will be released today....

It was also a whole lot of fun too, it has a great feeling to it, really enjoyed this demo.

Will be buying this one for sure. Smile

The demo is just intense. If you can give something to the COD franchise, its that its singleplayer battles are cinematic, if nothing else. The demo is very impressive. i must say it made me reflect on what a waste war is though -- they capture the vibe well, i must say.

very well put.
CoD 1 was so overhyped "OMGG BEST GAMEEE EVAR@!"
i just saw it as an upgraded medal of honor game..which it was..but then again i bought every medal of honor game and enjoyed them all, so i enjoyed CoD too Smile
i will enjoy CoD2 regardless of improvements. i can only hope and pray that there is no sniper levels..or better yet, no sniper rifles with scopes! ughh. i hate that shit. a good rifle and iron sights is good enough for me.
speaking of which thats what ruined MP, i mean, whats the use in having ironsights if nobody has to use them?
ban crosshairs in all games with ironsights Very Happy

How's the engine performance wise? is it optimized enough? or should we expect problem in that turf?

WTF!

Playing the game and I heard my surname mentioned. "C'mon Stevens get a move on!"
Nothing unusual about that it's a pretty common name.
Then I heard "Veale! Get a smoke grenade in there"
Now Veale is my maiden name. It's rare as hell.

It gave me a scare.

not convinced... there's no big differences between the two engines actually. some textures are even pretty bad.
game is fun, action is everywhere but it's the same game we played two years ago... may be annoying after few hours

runs good on my ati 9600. gfx are quite good, reminded me of pacific assault

this time ai is better, finally people are starting to understand that halth packs are lame. in addition, there are no quick saves, only auto ones, and that's good too

27 single player levels sounds just enough to me Smile

Wtf , there are still people saying it look like the first one . I think those people are playing this game with an nvidia card MX 440 . There is no other explanation .
Btw , just bought 7800 Gtx / 3500 Amd , and i come from Radeon 9700 Pro / 2100 Amd .

The gfx of Cod 2 are 10 Times better then the gfx of Cod 1 .
I have never seen a FPS like this . The smoke efects are really amazing . I played the demo of Fear , and there the smoke efects where great , but in Cod 2 they are AMAZING .

Untill now the best gfx i ever seen in a FPS . Can't wait the final release .

Doesn't look great to me. Maybe it's limiting my graphical settings? Looks better than the original but not by a huge margin. As far as the gameplay goes, which is what I judge a game on - it's COD again with a few more bells and whistles.

The fact that I haven't even bothered to complete the demo should mean something; if you found the repetitive action of COD to be ultimately scripted, pointless and lame - you aren't going to find much refuge in it's sequel.

lol, antialiasing on those screenshots has really screwed up the quality. Doesn't look as gritty as mine.

BTW those curious about the swooning at the amazeyness of the game; it's no more spectacular than the original COD.

played the demo again. it's tooooo damn scripted... it looks like a platform game now. u clean an area with 10-12 germans shooting at you, u move to the next location with another dozen germans and so on till the end of the mission.
let me say i'm not impressed at all. this one has just been deleted from the "to buy" list and added to the "leech then consider buying" one
