The story campaign is apparently quite extensive, upto I believe 10 hours as one source quoted. It basically starts with the rise of Rome and ends in a particular period just when Rome is starting to become a real empire, all the while teaching you the mechanics of the game.

Sounds pretty good to me. Empire had a similiar one with the Road To Independence campaign.

I gather after the story campaign is over, you'll be able to just keep playing or start anew with a different faction or Rome itself.

Anyway, that's all I've heard so far. Some of the CE editions have apparently arrived, look on google for some unboxing videos.

So there might be a expansion just like "Fall of the Samurai" for this game too then, if it does end just when it's starting to become a big empire. Very Happy
(Which could continue from there until things start to fall apart, of course modders might perhaps do a even better job, no idea how mod support will be for this game but I guess it'll be Workshop enabled and thus there's something planned for that feature?)

Well, the tutorial ends where Rome started to get big, the actual campaign picks up after that and goes through the Marian Reforms and possibly the Imperial Reforms, but most certainly doesn't cover the fall of Rome I don't think.

That will be DLC shit I suspect.

Apparently every faction is just as fleshed out as Rome with pivetal events and somewhat unique tech trees to climb up.

It all sounds delightly delicious actually, assuming they pull it off properly. I have my doubts about how cities are constructed and handled in terms of buildings, but we'll see. I'm cautiously optimistic. Razz

What about GMG, I can't use them myself but they have a good price compared to Steam or Gamersgate. Smile
(I can't use GMG since when I check-out with Paypal it displays a blank purchase, order doesn't process and it just fails if I try to proceed anyway.)

Only 2.5 days to go. This hype is a killer one. I like all the changes to internal politics, banner system and how the provinces work. Remember how Shogun 2 is the best TW on this engine, Rome 2 will likely take it's place. But I have other concerns regarding the upcoming TW after this one. They seriously need to make some major changes regarding the campaign.

That said though, I'm going to play the shit out this one. Hehe.

You'll be fine. I have the same setup and I'm not worried in the slightest because they used our hardware on some of the recent presentations and it looked great and ran very well.

There is only one thing about the game that worries me and that's possible de-syncs in the co-op campaign.

Just checked, looks like they upped the price. It was 79 yesterday. Still 32 is 25 less then on steam.
