They relaunched the Kickstarter.
They lowered the amount of money and they dropped the episodic nature for a monolithic release.

Shadow of the Eternals fails to reach funding goal
Quote: | The second Kickstarter campaign for a spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem has failed. Shadow of the Eternals from Precursor Games was seeking $750,000 in funds through Kickstarter, but ran out of time before reaching $400,000.
Precursor Games pulled the plug on its own campaign the first time around, due to what Denis Dyack called "noise" surrounding his involvement in the project. Dyack also admitted there were misconceptions of what Precursor promised, due to unclear messaging in the first pledge drive. Precursor Games relaunched on Kickstarter late last month.
Shadow of the Eternals was planned for Wii U, PS4 and PC on Steam. A Steam Greenlight campaign has been fighting for votes since May, though with a lack of funding for the game we may see it ultimately canceled as well. |

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Perhaps they should simply acknowledge the fact that people don't want this game
In all seriousness, they should show something more concrete and appealing in my opinion, because many PC users (me included) don't know Eternal Darkness and this spiritual sequel seems very vague..about everything.

It is more about who will be making this game rather then game itself, I think, hehe.

Haha yep, that's true. I'm not familiar with the guy but I'm aware that his reputation is a bit low, to say the least. Not exactly the person you would happily give your money to

LoK:BO was one of the greatest games of all time. Too bad CD later butchered series with their mediocre shit, I loved it :<
Unfortunately, it seems like ED and LoK was the only games Silicon Knights managed to produce before went downhill. Last few years they desperately tried to climb back on the spoken hill but with no avail.

You know, the Gamecube is very emulatable with Dolphin right now. And Eternal Darkness is just about the only thing on it I'd consider worth it.

Don't get me wrong Virtz, I don't want to discredit anyone here, I'm simply genuinely ignorant about the whole 'Dyack hate' thingy apart from the urban legends/what I read from the interwebs (Too Human-related stuff etc.). I can only say that I played and thoroughly enjoyed Blood Omen back then, and I have Eternal Darkness in my endless backlog (Dolphin of course, like you mentioned - hoping that it will run fine ).

It sounds like the company is not shutting down per se (as in it will stop legally existing) but people are indeed moving away from it (with the idea being they can reform the group at anytime in the future should they want).
