The Crew looks like a kind of souped up Test Drive and it looked pretty fun, in a mindless way, but I have to admit that I'm hypegasming all over the place about The Division. Blegh TPS or not, something about it just grabbed me right by the nuts ^_^
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Is its main focus still targeted at being an MMO game?

The Division will be always-online, because this is how the game is designed. It’s a world that’s always on and always living. The fact you’re always-online is a must. It’s the same for The Crew. You can join your friends or not, but something is happening in this world all the time.
Those that suffer from that strange allergy from MMO games still have something to soothe their malcontent, as Corre is quick to specify that both games aren’t MMOs.
Not MMOs. You can have an experience on your own or with friends. It’s a non-stopping world, which is like life. You’re getting closer to life.
Whether you like the idea of a always online open world game or not, Ubisoft definitely seems to love it, as Corre makes sure to mention:
We believe these kind of experiences are great. You can go on playing while not in your living room. You can use your tablet or smartphone to enrich your character or help your character and friends while you’re away.
We give the possibility for the gamer to always be in contact with these worlds. This is something that is completely new and refreshing.

Whenever I hear this I wonder, do they have any numbers to back that up or do they hope that that will be what it happens?
Can't really tell that I know anyone with a PC/console that has ever done that in the few games where it is possible to do so.
So is this what they expect for people to do while babbling this drivel again and again or...?
Anyway, driving game + MMO (no... yes... maybe?) + ubilol = 0 fucks given from my part.

LOL, to be fair, he was driving a skyline off-road....
Well, if the game is as arcadey as some people have tried to point out, I'm sure he would have done a lot better than that. Not expecting anything close to pseudo-sim or anyrhing of course it's pretty clear that's not the aim of this game.
They probably reduced the friction value in order to compensate for the lack of a proper physics engine, the car is literally skying on that gravel, kinda unnatural to see.
They should have used the same driving model as let's say Flatout (arcade but semi-realistic, and with a great damage system) instead of taking the Most Wanted Big Rigsy road. There's nothing nextgen in this. (aside from the impressive scale)
With a better driving model and crashes using softbody physics this would be my dream racing game. It looks kinda boring as it is though imo. This combined with burnout or something would be fkn awesome.
