After 5 years the spacebar of my G15V2 broke. I contacted the Logitech support yesterday but I don't have any warranty anymore unfortunately. He gave me a 35% discount coupon though. So I'm looking for something new, but I have no idea what to choose.

Budget: 100,- Euro
Requirements: Backlight

I can get the Logitech G710+ Mechanical Gaming Keyboard for a 100 euro with the 35% discount coupon. It's a mechanical keyboard, no idea if it's worth it compared to the 'old' keyboards.

Why is it so good then? If it feels like a laptop keyboard that's not good imo.

I recently went mechanical, and I will be sticking with it. There's just something about typing and gaming with it that feels better. I just like the clickety clack sounds

Ducky Shine II's are very nice but a little more expensive, and I believe the ducky Shine III is coming out soon as well (september?). Probably one of the best mechanical keyboards out there, with a slew of nice backlight options.

Check 'em out.

I'm not paying 150 Euro's lol. My budget is max 100 Euro.
Wish I could buy a new G15V2 or even second hand, but they don't sell anymore.

G510 or G15V2 like Aeon says ... gives you LCD and a nice pressing feeling..also backlighted (G510 gives you different colors for backlighting and at the same time the LCD screen...G15V2 it's in orange only)

G510 ftw for me...wish Logitech did an LCD keyboard without the G Keys, less costful, colours and fully updated and improved and i'd be happy..

Who knows, maybe with this new "10 10" announcement something great comes out...?

That G710+ has normal rubberdome keyboard feeling (but still mechanical, its hard to explain Very Happy), it has brown switches which doesnt click. If you can get it for 100€, go for it, you wont regret it.

Pretty much yes? Atleast overpriced stuff like G15/G19 where you get nothing but a fancy LCD for that extra money which is pretty worthless anyway.

I really don't understand why people pay so much for an LCD or a few macro buttons which are arguably inaccessible while gaming or some background lights (That last bit really boggles my mind, wtf do you need backlights for???)

Why?

I would only think it would be disturbing in dark and nothing else really.

All the keys around WSAD are worn out for me anyway and I personaly got no problems typing blindfold without any errors.
I guess the only reason to have backlight would be if you can't type without looking at your keyboard.

Well, I had problems with my G510 since some keys tend to get stuck when worn (the shift key in this case) where this has never happened to me on a mechanical.
And G19 is very overpriced, even when it came out.
The only reason I loved the G15 was because when I bought it (before there even was a mention of a 2nd version of it) was because it was cheap (cost about 55€) and had great extra functions.

Post scriptum
To further add, the G19 has more G-keys and an LCD over the G710+. Other than that the G710 is superior in every way (including pricing).

You don't have to spend a shit ton of money on a mechanical. Cooler Master has the cheapest ones out (80ish bucks which is around 60 Euro for you) for brown switches which is usually the preferred and they use the same OEM boards as Filco does so it's high quality shit.

...I lied, they went down 10 bucks.

They're built better, you can type faster and more efficiently and they don't feel like shit when you push the keys down.

There's people who scoff and always use the line "hur dur such n such money for typing" and then there's the people who try it out and will never go back. I've never heard of someone getting a mechanical and saying they hate it and going back to those shitty rubber dome keys.

If I were going to go back to non mechanical, I'd just get a Lenovo Thinkpad because those are fucking nice.
