the term AAA has nothing to do with the game itself at all. It's not an AAA title, because of its content or whatever. It's simply a matter of its budget. It also doesn't necessarily has to be for consoles and pc at the same time.
And i'm pretty sure it has a budget big enough to be considered AAA.

PS I can't buy it as a gift btw. So, it doesn't really matter if RU version is region free.

Can we redeem a Russian steam copy on say my UK account, without bad consequences?
I'm willing to do a gift trade with a well know member here if it's 100% safe were going to be able to do this.

Absolutely you can, though I really do think people should wait before jumping at the chance - this isn't region locked yet but many games later became region locked just prior to launching.

Three months is a long time and could end up with developments that disappoint a lot of people if they jump on the currently-unlocked RU copy. Or I could just be crazily paranoid and the game stays unrestricted permanently, hehe.

I agree. Same thing happened with Skyrim RU copy, region locked when released.

If the current Russian copy is identical to one you get if you buy the game in other regions it'll work even if they decide to lock it as they'll put up a different version for the Russians to buy. If it's RU tagged but not locked it's possible they'll lock it. They can do so anytime they want.

Well put it this way, the SteamDB has an entry for "X Rebirth (ROW)" - why would they have a specific entry for Rest of World if not RHCP/RU/CIS/etc as well? I'd definitely wait before buying, just to be on the safe side. I don't think the RU price is going to shoot up.

I guess they don't want people paying in dollars rather than the hyper-expensive EU/GBP. If they're willing to region lock the US and UK releases, I'd put money on the RU one ending up locked as well.

aww damn you are right - the RU version is not giftable! :C
couldn't check that yesterday... so I only looked into the steamdb 
so... anyone know someone in Brazil? it's ~25€ there  (didn't check if giftable)
