Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh okay, the performance is terrible Neutral 20-24fps and it feels incredibly sluggish and absolutely unplayable. Even with graphics quality on lowest, it is still sluggish.

~edit~

nvm... fucking Afterburner again >_<

Legit version runs fine on my system, all maxed out. Maybe something to do with your SLI set-up?

Yeah, Afterburner had the 2D profile selected and wouldn't enable 3D Facepalm Close Afterburner and it was fine again -- although performance can still be dodgy from time to time.

The atmosphere is incredible! I used to love exploring derelicts when I was younger and this feels just as creepy and intense, even though it's a normal house that people live in. Very Happy It does take a while getting used to the mouse capture though - I find myself fighting with the mouse whenever an interactive object comes into focus, since the mouse slows down to a crawl in order to give precision.

~edit~

... again.. never mind... I'm derping hard today it seems, haha. "Sticky Targeting" was enabled.

~edit~

I'm not a fan of, what I suppose is meant to be, the constant sound of rain. Not only does it not sound like rain but instead like an old record player constantly spinning with the needle at the end of the track - all hissing - but it's also incredibly tiring after awhile Sad

(like this only without the extreme crackling; http://www.audiosparx.com/sa/summary/play.cfm/crumb.2/crumc.0/sound_iid.338591 )

Finished it! Yeah, the game is incredibly short for the money - it took me just under 3 hours to finish (with some quick multitasking every so often) and the money they're asking seems slightly out of kilter, but it was incredibly impressive nonetheless. The atmosphere and interactivity was great and I really enjoyed the idea and story as it built up. Very fun game Smile

Well, the game crashed and it seems like no progress were saved so I guess this is where it ends for me since it has 0 replayability value and wasting another 2 hours to read and check all the stuff again I don't want.

Curious, though.

Um.... you might want to spoiler some parts of your post. Like, perhaps, maybe the ENTIRE bloody thing Razz

... and yes, I absolutely agree; this is by far the indie game of the year for me. No "gameplay", no puzzles, no combat, just sound and exploration. It was incredibly evocative and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just another game to add to my ever-increasing guilt over pirating, heh.

I had a big problem with the game during my playthrough, the performance was really shit, the fps was really low, and the funny thing is that my VGA just went crazy loud, louder than ever, no matter the graphics settings, even with Vsyinc on it just went off the charts. I read on Steam that some others have this problem too, maybe it's unoptimized a bit?

It's definitely unoptimised, it took my pair of 570s to sustain 60 at 1080 and even then.. sometimes.. just sometimes.. it would dip below 60. It reminds me of Anna, another similar "exploration" game, and that crippled the fuck out of a single 570 with the candy enabled, same with the recent indie scare'em'up where you have to use a mobile phone to see the enemies - I gave up trying to play that due to dodgy performance.

I have a single 580 GTX, with everything turned off and set to low, the fps was the same as on high (20-30). Oh yeah and there was definitely some VGA overheating, I almost thought that my rig would blow up any minute now lol, it was that loud. Something is very wrong with the game.. it's a shame because I enjoyed it immensely.

Something to do with Nvidia cards, maybe? My single 7950 blitzed through it at max.

It could well be an nVidia issue, I don't recall many people screaming about the, frankly disgusting, performance in Anna that I encountered - but yeah, like beyondthesun; in Anna I was lucky to break 30fps on a single 570 and on a pair of 570s Gone Home sometimes dipped below 60.

Someone didn't follow the story carefully, eh? I suggest to re-read some notes and you will get explanation.
As for VCR - what VCR?

Oh yes, that one is weird indeed. But lack of SNES is explained by the story.
