How do you put anti-pirate measures in a GOG game without it constituting some form of DRM?

They probably released a 'fake' on TPB.
I thought this game would be total garbage but I have to say after watching a few videos it's kinda interesting, or at least different.

Wonder how that works with the GOG edition, it's probably not included in that version though since there's no serial or other way to authenticate a specific user.
(Larian Vault should be the same.)

That might be something related to the multiplayer, because what else might be a trigger in GOG version.

Game is stable here, only "problem" is that the Steam version is currently lacking the Imperial Edition bonus content. Smile
(But they are looking into it and according to the forums a lot of people have this issue, could use the Larian downloader but I'm just going to wait since it can't be that long now until it gets fixed.)

Pretty sure the Fairlight release is from the Steam version from what I read earlier in this thread but I haven't checked their release myself.

If there's a surprise feature for pirates, then the smart thing is not to mention it.

This sounds like bullshit intended to make pirates reconsider.

There should be a tutorial, maybe you turned it off in the game options.
(The story campaign has one at least, haven't tried the others but scenarios and custom campaign probably has something like that too.)

Right click on any owned land to either build on it or purchase units, read what the different buildings do since you can only have one per owned land, grab neutral lands by draggin a unit piece to it and it'll move there and capture during the next turn, you can also use playing cards to instantly add a bonus to a country or before a battle for say extra units or enhanced abilities.

The goal is simply to capture the enemy stronghold (Or strongholds.) and after that you move to the next part of the story, however after each turn in the story mode there's various random developments such as your military generals wanting you to take certain actions or the civilian governors vying for certain powers or privileges but it's pretty easy to figure out. Smile

EDIT: Oh and apparently every single NPC on that royal ship you use as a base is a extremist of sorts, that undead dude seems to be heavily into tradition and religion for example whereas one of your female generals is something like a pro-feminist. Smile

The RTS portion looked awful in every video I've seen, just straight up attack moving and watching everything fling identical shit at eachother. Even if all the diplomacy and political stuff was great the gameplay itself looked more basic than Halo Wars or a modern C&C. I love Larian but if you make an RTS you should be held to the same standard as everyone else.

So did those who pledged the Divinity kickstarter with the Dragon Commander digital copy get their codes yet? Haven't received anything yet... Sad

Changelist version 1.0.14.0 - It gets more challenging (on hard)
6 August 2013 - lar
Hello everybody,

We've just released a small patch for the Steam version which fixes some achievement bugs and introduces a more challenging "hard" mode. If you now restart a game in "hard" you will be confronted with different unit layouts, AI configurations and small differences to the strategy maps. Together they should make for a stronger challenge! We did this because some players thought the game a bit too easy. We're well aware that other players think the game is already challenging as is, so we didn't touch the casual, easy or normal modes.

The new "hard" chapter maps are only loaded upon entering a chapter, so if you have a savegame in chapter 2 and put the difficulty on hard, you will not see the new chapter layout. However, if you have a savegame in chapter 1 and put the difficulty level on hard, then your chapter 2 map will be the "hard" one. And if you restart in hard, then you'll have a "hard" chapter 1 map.

Here is the changelist for version 1.0.14.0

+fix for loading diffuculty settings for strategymap
+don't take dragons into account in army comparison
+Achievement fixes
+Fixes wrong resource lookup for visuals.
+Fixed victory condition check.

Have fun!

Played like 11 hours straight..10 more like since I was idle for a while.

Nice game, bit on the hard side at times even on normal difficulty.
I didn't think the SP campaign was too short. you got plenty of battles and tactics to go through, so unless you cheat or play on easiest difficulty, it won't be over soon. Smile

I also liked the banter with the generals etc. I'm a sucker for dialogues. Laughing
Edmund was written well imo and the voice actor did a good job with him...was my favorite of em all.

Overall I had a good time with this and will definitely play it again soon.
