I once tried a super plane like that...

The wings with jet engines flew away, while my fuselage posed on the tarmac... Little Kerbal was horrified and needed counseling. It was a beautiful day Sad

rule number 1: use struts
rule number 2: use even more struts
rule number 3: look twice where you could place another part to support the placing of MORE struts
