OK ive been playing the shit out of this game, and im starting to think that the developers are running a scam. I cant prove it, but hear me out for a sec. Say i wanted to make a game, and I wanted it to be f2p, only selling visual add ons for revenue. But really its pay to win. What you do is create websights that sell your currency, and you dupe and sell the shit all day long. At the same time you publicly proclaim these sights to be illegal and you are trying to shut it down, because your game is fair to everyone and completly "f2p".
A few things. I have played over 200 hours and found 1 exhaulted orb, maybe 3 fusings every 5 hours, and so on, and they throw in a unique evey now and then that is worth nothing on the market. And this is from grinding for hour after hour day after day, with the best farming gear i can come up with. If i sold all my shit at rmt prices it would be worth maybe 8 dollars total. Hundreds of hours! And after you gringd and grind and level and level, you cant continue without getting better gear, meanwhile the good shit costs up to 10 exhauteds! And some Chinese, they claim is selling them 6 bucks a pop, give me a break, ggg is in on that action, its a scam. Up to 1000 fusings to 6 link an item, when you might get 10 in 40 or 50 hours of grinding. And they want you to believe that these chinese just happen to have an unlimited supply of this stuff on hand and for sale at all times. Yeah right they are the only ones that can dupe items and sell them to make any money.
for instance
http://www.poeex.info/
http://www.exalteditems.com/buy-path-of-exile-currency
http://www.upitems.com/path-of-exile-items
These are just a few, and you think these sites have people grinding this game day in and out farming this shit. making 10c an hour? And they all have as many as you need.
But GGG seeing all this money being made are just giving the game away?
Only a fool would believe that.

ok then fire up the game, get your best farming gear, and then after hours, add up what you get compare to the time spent, then imagine what you would have to do to run a site selling unlimited amounts of said items, and you will see how near impossible it would be.
Everything is server side, so the only ones that can dupe shit is the developer.Or maybe boiler rooms filled with computers and some chinese guy walking around screaming "come on we need more orbs!!" And Charlie Bucket jumps up and screams " I found one! a golden exhaulted!!" and the crowd picks him upand parades him around lol

i played ~100 hours and had 4 exalts drop, 6-7 gcp's, a fuckton of chaos, hundreds of fuses&those colour-changers, plus random amounts of those in between. I always farmed places with a level-range slightly higher than my characters level though, read somewhere that is optimal for drops when solo.

That's what MMOs have done to gaming. They have created a generation of nolife losers who call themselves "gamers", who accept grinding as part of having fun in games.

No, I didn't grind in Diablo 1, and I stopped playing D2 a long time ago. I stop playing any game when it starts to feel like just a timesink.
The purpose of playing games is having fun. Grinding is the exact opposite of fun.

Thinking that MMO introduced grinding is just plain and simple wrong.Besides, grinding/farming is an inegral part of hack'n'slash experience - it just must be done right. |
in d1 or d2 was no such thing like exploiting first timed bosses with a swarm of level 1 chars to get full stash of orbs. delete chars, and repeat. obscene amounts of orbs got in the market this way, screwing the economy. and your high lever char chances to get orbs are nerfed to ground. more h you put in one, less loot you get. vs new chars.
from there are the $.
is(was) a shit system (you can still do that level 1 chars bosses ?), and with the crap trade system and ninja looters fully suported by the devs in that time (i know now they implemented instanced loot) that was the main reason i droped the game.
i was laughting my ass off after the launch of open beta, when i played a bit hardcore and got only a few orbs, and people begin to wrote topics how they fused 5k orbs, and no 6 links. that should have been a clear sign of the direction of the game.

that is exactly what im saying, yes its RNG, and yes sometimes good stuff drops. And I understand that its based around the concept of grinding to get good shit. But, it gets to the point were you can not continue to play, because you can not upgrade your gear! For instance I skipped every single dmg node and went after every single survival node i could snag to lvl 68. Energy shield life and armour. And get insta gibbed on maps i am 6 or 7 levels over. And to top it off theres a penalty on drops for being over leveled. Starting to see a problem? That huge skill tree is all fluff. Its path of life nodes, and path of Chaos innoculation, and still die instantly, because you cant afford gear!
And yes 1k fusings and not even get a 6 link. In fact I have NEVER even seen a 6 link white item. So
If people want to waste countless hours thinking that next map run is going to change everything you are dilusional. Who wants to play knowing that if they hoard gear for a year then they can play the game like Kripp. Who by the way is doing nothing special, that anyone could do, if they had 2k people watching him play and kissing his ass every fucking day. But want to skip all that go buy some orbs, because GGG sure isnt bating you into being in their game endlessly, chasing a carrot on a stick, because they are so cool they want to pay for your enjoyment, and if you could be so kind as to donate they give you a cool weapon effect. Fucking bullshit! They stringing you along hoping you either GTFO their servers or go buy some of their orbs. Dont be nieve. They are using the Diablo grind as an excuse to pull it off.
And im not just some idiot with entitlement issues, Ive put hundreds of hours in over at least 30 toons, and it doesnt matter, around lvl 50 everything starts to break down. Doesnt matter what class, or follow builds off the forums. It all comes down to gear, and currency. And the fact of the matter is a am emberassed that I got suckered into the whole thing

He really won't like it if that's the case. He'd have to play Derploω for that.

Those items will probably be on the market soon enough, exclusive to the marauder!
I guess Breezer considers those retarded, while these amazing (don't hold me responsible for causing heart-attacks because of so much ugliness contained in a spoiler):

The GGG team have been busy demoing the game prior to release and revealed the new character class the Scion. Daughter of corrupt nobles, she’s been exiled to Wraeclast along with the other unruly band of characters already in the game. GGG’s Chris Wilson describes her as a strength, dexterity and intelligence based character that sits right in the middle of their insane passive skill tree. She’s also not available to play right away, she has to be unlocked by finding her in the game world somewhere at the end of normal difficulty.
The Scion has been locked to new players because she’s a more complex character to master due to her positioning in the passives tree. With so many path options spanning form the centre, it’s not going to be easy to specialise in particular thing so some tough choices have to be made when creating a Scion build.
Along with the new class are new game features including support gems called trigger gems with which there’s a % chance it will trigger the other gems placed along side it in an item. Think of them as a kind of macro so that you don’t have to handle each gem effect individually.
POE players can also look forward to the continuation of Act 3 with new areas, a new boss, new PvP modes including capture the flag and hour long PvP tournaments, and finally guild support with shared stashes and a command hierarchy to make guild management easier.
Last but by no means least, the game will be released on Steam with integrated Steam features.
