Commandos series.Especially 2 and 3.I find fix in WIDE SCREEN GAMING for bigger resolution and now play it again. And they are just great games.Classics.
I never played Impossible Creatures but I remember I saw a review somewhere and I was quite intrigued - is it any good?
It's been a while since I've really played it, but from what I recall, the mechanics are fairly modern (simplified resources and gathering, building, etc.) while having a unique unit design system. That makes it pretty easy (and fun) to get into, but leads to the potential of repetition and/or exploitation by more skilled players. I only played the original version, there was also an add-on mod ("Insect Invasion") and a patch or two that may have made substantial changes. There were also some mods out for it...
Dunno about unknown - but I kind of liked Soldiers At War (turnbased strategy), Cossacks (well..perhaps not unknown not that I think of it).. Goblins 1-3. Those are the ones I can think of right now..but I'm sure i know shitloads of others. Too early in the morning though

Well i bet many don't know all the old games from the Amiga times
I played that adventure Curse of Enchantia sooo many times. Was really charming and nice!
It was also the time when in every adventure game you seem to start in a jail lol.
Lure of the Temptress too

I don't care what anyone says, this game was nothing but pure fucking awesome.
Excellent game!
Holy shit! I loved Abominaton. It has superb soundtrack that I used in some horror themed postapo PnP RPG sessions.
Also constant memory leaks with that game.
But unfortunately it would have been better if made as TBS.

Here is a game i like, i would replay it more often but dosbox has issues with it so.
It's called Reunion and it takes place in Space. You colonize worlds, buld cities, and develop new technology. Your goal is to take back Earth. Here is the intro and a gameplay video

Clans/Satanica (wacky german name), from 1999. A bit odd, but I really liked playing it.
From the wiki:
Spoiler:
The game is similar in both basic gameplay and visuals to Diablo series. However, there is no leveling system, meaning that the only way to increase player's attributes is by collecting rings, drinking special stat-raising potions, and simply using more powerful weapons and better armour. Four classes are available to play: warrior, barbarian, dwarf, and elf, all with the same abilities, but each especially good at one. Clans is split into seven stages, with the seventh being mostly the boss stage. Each stage is divided into many sectors, or "rooms", that player visits. During the game, the player is often tasked with solving a riddle or puzzle, or helping a friendly character. Also present are point-and-click graphic games elements, such as inventory, an ability to use items with objects or characters. While there is no town in-game, the player encounters several quest-giving or simply aiding characters (like wizard, old woman, blacksmith, chef, witch, cursed warrior) and a trader along the way. Some of the main characters' quotes are presented in a humorous style. The player can find and equip 5 attribute-boosting rings, and use swords, axes, shields, and armor of five types each (though there are only four axes). The main point of gameplay is navigate through the stage, finding better equipment and health potions in order to cure the wounds received from monsters, which ranges from the weak goblin-like humanoids and trolls to the most dangerous black mages and knights.
Story:
Spoiler:
Four Clans were living in harmony, until an evil demon appeared, attempting to sow discord between them. The elders, sorcerers, shamans, and healers from each of the Clans forged the Crown of Peace, which united them and vanquished the demon. However, years have passed; the powers of the Crown have weakened, the Clans are at war with each other again, and the demon's minions are at large. It is time for a new hero to rise and destroy the evil once and for all.
And a little about the game mechanics:
Spoiler:
Clans is an action game with role-playing and puzzle-solving elements. The player can choose to play as either a warrior, an elf, a dwarf, or a barbarian. The warrior is a balanced fighter with melee prowess and magic; the elf is a powerful magician; the dwarf is strong with the axe and able to cast spells as well; the barbarian is physically the strongest of the four, but cannot cast magic at all. Most of the game consists of exploring dungeon-like areas, fighting enemies in action-oriented combat, and solving various puzzles (mostly of environmental type) to advance. The role-playing elements are present in weapon and armor customization, spells, and the possibility to increase the protagonist's statistics with certain items.
Clans was a let down. I couldn't bear myself to finish it.

I'll add another less known jRPG to the list: Saga 3 DS - it's a remake (more like a total overhaul, actually) of the old Saga 3 for GB (known as Final Fantasy Legends III in the USA, though it had no connection with the FF series).
What makes is interesting is that it seems to have a lot of nonlinearity (many quests have multiple outcomes and there's a good deal of time travel-related story branching). JAP only (never came out in the USA), but there's a translation and the beta patch (which is basically complete save for some minor interface elements) has come out some days ago.

This. The third one in particular was pretty great and it also had a very interesting feature inspired by MM4 (getting your own castle and expanding it). I should definately replay them sooner or later, it's been ages since the last time I did.
Too bad the fourth chapter was never completed, since it looked amazing

Absolute masterpiece Remember buying iit, playin g for a few minutes and...throwing in the "never play this" bin. Two years later had nothing better to do, installed it again, played for 29 hours straight Finished ot 4-5 times since then.
I've been waiting it for years and the time has finally come: Oriental Blue's translation has been released.
Aside from being the very first Tengai Makyou game ever translated, the game features
