Fuck this, I failed my driving exam today. Sad
The examinator was a nice guy but I swerved too much to the left and I also did too much "cutting" on roundabouts Razz

Oh well. Gonna try it again in a few weeks.

Good thing is that I have exceptional control over the car (drove this one first time) for a rookie Smile

By too much I mean that on the streets with poor markings and mulitple lanes I couldn't keep a good line (and we have many of those).
It kind of sucks indeed because it's very rare here that you can finish your exam drive as I did and then get to hear the failure part.
Usually when you really do bad things the exam is stopped and you can't drive any more.

Swerving anywhere on a road is not really a good idea unless its to avoid an accident that might happen.

Making you finish the exam wether you drove like a noob or not is due so you dont cause any issues on the way back to the test place, there with keeping you composed and driving safe as you can hoping you might get a pass.

Yea, I know. It didn't happen on two-way streets. Thankfully I'm not that stupid.
I just tend to rush and go for the fastest way Razz

Having no road markings really sux Sad
I was so confused over it when I first drove.
It took me some days to get used to it and just drive on my side of the road.

Neutral

They let you drive even after you failed? Laughing In Poland when you make a mistake during the exam the examinator just says "Pull over" and the examinator drives back Laughing

Yup. First I flunked on the highway when driving into a rest stop(never been there while driving and I found out the offramp for rest stops is about 50% as long as normal offramps, so I was going a good 50-55 mph in there and had to break pretty hard Laughing) Second time the cunt thought I was gonna run over a pedestrian when I wasnt so she clamped the breaks. Super frustrating

Shit happens difm, it's easy to make mistakes when roads are fucked up and you have too much confidence Razz.

I too almost got flunked because of a hasty overtaking (you could see the fear in the examinator's eyes Laughing) but in the end it was a flawless move and got only a "warning" for being too hazardous. Better luck next time! (soon hopefully) Keep the car slow like a snail, and everything will be fine Very Happy

@Zip: that's odd and kinda infuriating, there's really no point in wasting all that time. Damn examinators, they get paid for being assholes. xD Here it's like Poland, as soon as there's a serious and compromising mistake, it's time to go home. Laughing Though I've seen people getting away with pretty much everything...they probably knew someone in high places. Razz

Well, about that slow thing. We can't drive slowly without a valid reason (that qualifies as obstructing the other drivers).

When I did mine I was lucky, the roads were covered in snow so I didn't go above 30-40km. Easiest test ever since I didn't even get taken on highways or any kind of parking.

Oh, I see. Here it's quite different, and examinators basically encourage the candidates to take it very slowly, since the only thing that really matters is not braking the rules.

That's also the main reason why normal drivers always get immensely pissed off and like to troll the poor people under examination with incessant honking and zig-zag maneuvers done on purpose. Laughing

I know, I know. I just really didn't give a shit back then, and didn't study for it. You needed 80% to pass, and I had 78% Sad

this!

And congratulations!

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

It depends, if you don't drive like a crazy and follow the rules, it will be easier than you think, even if the road is in bad conditions. Razz As long as you pay attention and avoid being overconfident, everything will be fine. Smile

And congrats of course! May I ask, which car will you drive? Very Happy

Honestly, I have no idea. I live really close to my workplace so I don't need a car for that. For my work trips I can use company cars Smile
But hey, at some point I will buy it because I'm thinking of moving also.

BUT to answer your question - I'm currently thinking about VW Gold (4+) or Mazda 3/6.
I don't want to spend a lot of money on my first car Smile

A wise decision Very Happy. I'd pick the Golf, hands down! (Though anything above the v4 is still damn expensive here..Razz)
