...or more likely them don't working on new OS

another year another OS ... another headache

every yeah its the same compatibility game

first it was i can't run this and that on VISTA ... new memory management
need emus Facepalm

now the same crap with WIN7...

Wanted to replay some Die Hard Trilogy PC and ... ended by downloading the PS version to be able to re-play it Facepalm i CAN'T EVEN REPLAY MY OWN GAME I BOUGHT BACK IN 1997

wanted to replay my favorite game Donald Duck Quack Attack.... ended by downloading the Dreamcast and the PS2 version Facepalm SAME THING can't replay my own original cds ...

and thats why more and more ...I see the benefit of consoles ,
and thats why when i like a PC game
i always get the console version ALSO ,
some here will troll : PC WIN HIGH REZ AND SHIT ...

but in 3 or 5 years you will not be able to run it AGAIN Laughing

Back in 2002 when in had winxp and dos Norton commander launching before to run dos games i found it strange ... or more likely retarded to have something like DOSBOX .... but now it s a necessarily to run dos games !!!

it sad that to run some thing you have to have a dedicated machine now ... its sad

guess i have to buy a cheap laptop and make it my winxp and Pure DOS machine to run games ... like i did back in 99

Yeah, so surprising you can't run games made for an OS that was dropped 2 decades ago. How are those NES cartridges working on your Xbox?

pretty well thanks to Visionary 3

and

tonizito its a tread about games not being compatible no more

Starwars Force Commander will not work on 64bit systems ... well the game works on modern OS but ! how you will install it when the Installshield Installer this game uses does not work in 64bit os

Want to replay Metal Gear Solid PC ... you cant , you have to decrypt the files to use different bitmaps
or replay Metal Gear Solid 2 PC ... not working , you have to decrypt the exe to use different pixel shader instructions taken from different graphic card, the ATi hack Laughing

most of you here are "completed shift delete next" but not me , i catalog and store and replay them ... do you

yes you do , and some work we do you see on other sites

but yeah do fuck cares about old games ... we got now some good AAA DERP games now

dafuq, I was just thinking about this a few days back when watching some MGSV footage Laughing

BUT, IIRC, you still had to do that hack even back when the game was released, or shortly after that.
Hell, I remember I had to use that fix in WinXP FFS, and I still have the modded exe tucked away anyhow grinhurt

DHT was so awesome on PSX, I played the shit out of it as a child. And the music was really great.
The lightgun game was the best, I had a plastic Beretta replica and spent hours in god mode massacring everything that moved on the screen, mainly the civilians Laughing It was really a violent game for its time. It was also the only game back then that allowed you to plow through huge groups of pedestrians with your car. If you did it in bumper view there was blood splattering all over the tv screen.

Many old PC games that also came out on consoles look better on emulators now. Laughing
Higher internal resolution, dx9/dx11 post-processing etc.

Really? So you're plugging in the good old NES cartridges straight into the Xbox and they work yeah?

You need both Xboxes to really play all Xbox games (and the new joke has no BC either). You need a PS2+PS3 to play all PS1-3 games properly (and the PS4 has no BC). You need all of Nintendo's consoles except either the Wii or the GC really to play all those.

Or you just emulate everything up to and including the PS2 on a PC Laughing

By your comparison, that means for each of these you basically need just as many consoles as you do PCs to run it all (Win7+Win XP+Win98 - DosBox is fine for DOS games). And even then most games do work just fine on Windows 7; any Tech 1-3 game works fine, as do Unreal, as does Fallout for example. I can get more and older games to run with minimal effort on Windows 7 than I can run PS2 games on my PS3.

So again...Hfricky Laughing

You can install Windows 98 in virtual machine and run old Windows games fine (in software mode tho, but still).

Yeah, it was great. I had the demo first and played the first level of DH2 like a million times. Later when I got the full game I completed it with a controller. I doubt I would manage that now. "Fkin' controls %ยง$#". Also completed DH3, but I never managed to finish the first one :/
