Why, oh why oh why!

Why do people install these applications on their computer when there are so many better alternatives!

Internet Security and Antivirus resource hog like hell and moans like hell when you disable one.

So many computers I've looked at with the same problem... slow loading. Disable the bundle of crap bloated norton apps and bobs your uncle... there is speed in the computer.

It's all a con, they sell it to novice users and create a mess of their computer.

Nod32 all the way for the antivirus replacement...

i use norton antivirus and i dont really have a prob with it.... i am a novice though. i once used mcaffe and that was the biggest pile of shit ever, i mean like 60 programs popping up when you turn on your comp. with norton nothing pops up at the beggining just a little norton sighn at the bottm right hand side of the screen. if you have any other suggestions though i'm all ears.

I don't use any of it (Antivirus, Firewall or anything). It's a waste of resources.. As long as you know what you are doing you'll never have any problems..

I think the reason is because when you walk into any computer store the chances are that the first and biggest display in the antivirus/security section that you see is the Norton one. They are the biggest software whores since Microsoft.

In some cases its the only antivirus software that stores sell and 9 times out of 10 its included in the software bundle with computers by companies like Packard Bell and Del for example.

I use Symantec Corporate which has never caused any problems resource wise for me but would agree NOD32 would be my choice if I ever got around to buying a license. Wink

The Ultimate Trouble Shooter v2.61 can turn off some hogs of norton.

I use Norton AV but thats it Doesnt slow my computer down much and I turn it off when i run videogames so its all good ya know?
