Ok, what religion are u? Dont be hesitant either, Christian or Satanists, all are welcome here I'd say And please, no flaming by anyone if someone happens to be a religion u disagree with. Im just curious as to what ppl are. If ur agnostic or athiest, just say that.
I'll go first.
I'm Wiccan (but i practice the teachings/methods/idealogoy, whatever u wanna call it, of shamanism in a wiccan ritual setting)

I took a comparative religions course once, and we had to study all the major religions... it was then that I realized how ridiculous things have gotten, so I don't know what I am anymore... I'd like to believe there is something up there though, some higher power of some kind, but I can't say I agree with any existing religion out there at the moment.

drakgon wrote: | hey can anyone put those religions in order of when they were made..... i wanna know so i can see the oldest religion that still exists kinda interesting. | I think that would be Animism .. so far as I can tell animism was the original form of spiritual expression used by humans, to share the awareness of a greater awareness in the cosmos .. no doctrine just acceptance of a greater spirit that permeates the cosmos .
Example .. wow this here universe is alive .. cool huh
The first phalange of your four finger (the one you point with) represents religion .. according to palmistry ..
I have taught my children that we come from the stars & return to the stars when we die .. Folks often ask me to perform a prayer of sorts, on events that call for it, deaths, births ect ..
So far as I can tell most established institutions of religion are just in the business of providing a crutch for folks who cant face the eternal mystery alone.

Why does it have the USA as followers of animism in that map? They are mostly christians.

Well, no religion is the oldest per say man...outta the mainstream religion's? there's prolly an oldest but outta all the word religions, u cant really tell. Shamanism, in all its forms (african shamanism, voodoo, other tribal sects and shit) is the oldest known religion still being practiced i recall reading. Lots of tribes still have their own customs, lost of native canadian indians still practice the Old Ways...which predates all major, modern religion...
But see, they all arent really Shamanism, rather thats a term the anthropologists have deemed it. Same thing as being Protestant, Catholic, Baptist etc minor variations, but thats what makes the difference.
U should look up the origions of Christian holidays...they're all based of Pagan Calender celebrations, same story basically too. And its funny that pagans were cool, until King James came around and deemed Pagan's as devilworshipers...
Its funny, from all the shit Ive read on alot of various religion's/belief system's, everyone basically believes in the same general story and god. Yet through man, we've corrupted the original message into "religions".

nope, our native canadian tribes and native american tribes differ quite a bit.
like between them...a blackfoots a blackfoot, but we have alot of native ppl, least in Canada. And of course the US has its own native americans and canada has it's own native canadians
