Sorry hs, I don't seem to remember if you read the books. If so, could you write a small review for us? And maybe in a spoiler the major differences to the book?
I really wonder what they re filmed and what was so bad about the first take. I still think that this should've been an HBO 10 part mini series

The book was really good and I'm not a book guy. One of the few (and by few I mean *relly* few) books I read and actually finished. I can only recommend it and it's perfect for people that have such a short attention span as I

I still think that this should've been an HBO 10 part mini series | Watched a review, and as expected, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the book, apart from both having zombies. The book is a collection of personal accounts of the war, dealing with a ton of different people from all around the world. As far as I could tell, the movie is about one guy, and the plot isn't based on any of the stories. Can't be any more different if they tried even harder.
Yeah, it should have been an HBO miniseries (but much more than 10 episodes, minimum 2 seasons, preferably 3).
The review said that the movie by itself is ok for a summer brainer-offer, kinda like if Emerich made a zombie movie, but don't go in expecting anything book related.

Seen this over the weekend.
Doesn't do the book any justice at all (It was never going to be able to) It was a good edge of your seat zombie film, just could have been so much better.
The lack of gore and violence was a bit strange seeing as though that kind of stuff goes hand in hand with zombie films. From what I've read aswell the new ending sounds allot better than what they originally filmed / had planned.
I'd give it 7/10
compared to other fast 'zombie' films...
28 days later 8/10
Dawn of the dead remake 9/10

I saw this last night.
I must admit it started off well enough but by the end I was feeling pretty disappointed. It had some good ideas but should have been better. As nik_nak mentioned, there was very little gore and even a particular dismemberment was kept off camera. Id expected more from a 15 rated movie. Seemed more like a 12A!
Id rate it 6/10.
May the NFOrce be with you always.

Thats why I prefer TWD comics and the TV series.. Its massive amounts of raw gore WITH A PURPOSE!
Yeah WWZ movie looks all action but its fun.. They mentioned there was no Gore in the movie which is ok I guess but yeah thats odd-ish for Zack shows.

Man, this movie sucked so bad. I'm not sure if its a UN and inoculation propaganda or Israel is good propaganda. Nolan and Ling...something made it. These guys make/write crappy movies imo.

I didn't know we had a thread for this, my review:
+ very high production values, good action, tries to incorporate a lot (so you get a lot of "genres"), great CGI
- there should've been more silent/alone scenes (not mass action), the family drama did nothing for me, tries to incorporte a lot (so a bit messy), open ending, story was OKish
8/10
edit: Israel propaganda? It made perfect sense.

I thought it was pretty decent until ...
Spoiler: | ... they crashed landed in Wales. Wales! lol.
What a load of crap after that! Its like the budget ran out lol.
The whole concept of injecting with a virus to make themselves invisible was a good idea I thought. |

Spoiler: | Yeah the Camo thing worked for me. Liked that and makes sense especially in light with the observations he saw by mass hordes oddly avoiding certain people. Just had to figure out why. This is a little different to Zombie Lore in a sense although the standard approach is to cover one's sef with their guts OR use one of them as a lure tagging along with you (both methods used in TWD). |

Wasn't a bad action flick but the zombies looked low budget and the sounds they made were annoying. If you're afraid of putting gore in your movie... don't make a zombie movie.

Considering all the other low-budget undead/infected zombie movies out there, WWZ wasn't at all bad. I was entertained but of course its a popcorn zombie flick compared to the farrr more cerebral TWD.
