i sure like what i see. Units properly rushing through enemy lines and having impact. Ships and ground troops on the same battle. Ballista which seem to be quite accurate and impactful.

How come they never show off massive battles when presenting the game?
The game's most impressive feature is the large scale battles with 10,000+ men rendered beautifully on the Warscape engine.
I guess what counts as small in Total War is still very impressive compared to most RTS games, and more than enough for the average consumer.
Me however, I play with 40 units, around 10-12,000 men per army, it's absolutely epic. I cannot wait to take either the legions of Rome or the phalanx of Macedon and make my way to Egypt and beyond

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Likely down to performance, the demo they DID show off had horrible framerate and constant chugging. I think adding even more to the combat demonstration would have affected the performance a lot more, though it's not hard to understand why; that video was gorgeous.

Come to Germania, I'll wait there in the Teutoburg forest for you
Looking quite nice. I hope it will improve on areas where the Total War games have always seemed weak as well, like late-game fatigue/lack of non-contrived challenge and the threat of the AI actually winning battles without a difficulty level giving it significant bonuses.

LOL, CA still swear that the Shogun 2 AI doesn't cheat. A clan with one province left manages to churn out full-stacks of troops every turn... Not cheating, sure.

yeah, except this is her first CA/TW title she works on. So all the crappy AI before were probably (most likely) done by a male....
keep that sexist talk to yourself please (i know you are "kidding", but "kidding" is just a way to make sexism/racism etc. look "less offensive", but it isn't).
